What a WONDERFUL place to stay. My family and myself enjoyed this cabin very much. It has ALL the comforts of home. Plenty of space too. I have 2 boys(11 & 5) and a girl(17 mos. old) and they had so much fun having their own space, they called it their hotel room(hehehe). The jacuzzi is very relaxing. The cabin is in a mountain and we thought that was very cool. Thank you again for sharing this beautiful cabin with us we hope to come again.

Cabin was great for a girls getaway (five of us). Cabin was clean and beds were comfortable. Spent most of our time outside by the hot tub and on the small patio. Liked being between Asheville and Hot Springs. Enjoyed Good Stuff and the Bistro in Marshall, restaurants & shopping in Asheville and a soak at the Hot Springs Spa. The area around the patio and walk to the hot tub could be pruned more as there was lots of posion ivy--would be nice to see some perenials around the patio. Also, it was impossible to wash and dry the sheets and towels before checkout. Overall, would recommend this cabin.

quite nice

Cedar Creek cabin was quite nice and comfortable for a family of 4. The kitchen is equipped with a good amount of pans etc, so it was easy to cook; the refrigerator is a good size. The bedrooms had plenty of space.
I felt like the house could have been a little cleaner, because there were cobwebs on the ceiling and it smelled musty in the living room- I think it had been closed up before we got there.
Also, I was very disappointed that we weren't able to use the fireplace- that had been a selling point for us. The heat worked well in all the rooms, though.
Marshall is a pretty sleepy little enclave- we were never really drawn in, so I can't say for sure what it's all about. It is relatively close to Asheville, which is where we spent the bulk of our time.
The driveway up to the cabin is very narrow and it is very difficult to turn around if there are too many cars parked on the side- especially if you drive a larger car.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. The fireplace has been repaired and it fully functional. We also have a new house cleaner and she is awesome, thank you Annie, for your all you do to keep our cabin clean!

Charming cottage

Our stay at the Cedar Creek Cabin was more than we expected. The cabin was cozy, clean and in a setting that made stress fade away. We were only fifteen minutes from Asheville, resturants and The Biltmore. Other activities less than an hour in any direction were mining, hiking, ziplining and much more. We enjoyed our stay at the Cedar Creek Cabin.

Just Right for a Family of Four

5 of 5
Submitted: August 24, 2009 Stayed: August 2009
We just spent two weeks at this cabin, and even the teenager was happy! We loved the time we spent at the cottage. It is clean and modern, and yet very charming. You are in the middle of nature, but a very short walk to an excellent latte and wi-fi. There are excellent art galleries in Marshall as well as a wonderful used bookstore. The locals are so helpful and friendly, they really want you there. Be sure to checkout the free bluegrass concerts at the old train depot, local muscians playing at Zuma Coffee, and if you need advice about ANYTHING, talk to anyone working behind the counter at Goodstuff. They also have computers at Goodstuff and don't charge anything to use them or the internet. We enjoyed $40 hour long massages in Hot Springs, river rafting, and caught tons of trout at a local's pond. We also frequently ventured into Asheville to take in art galleries, The Biltmore (spend the extra $ and take the audio tour, highly worth it) theatre and great restaurants. I recommend Doc Chey's Noodle House. Don't miss La Zooms Comedy Bus Tour of Ashville. You'll learn a lot and laugh even more. Asheville has a very interesting and funny history. Asheville also has a fantastic art scene it's sort of a Santa Fe of the South.

We would venture out during the day, then come back to the cottage and enjoy cooking dinner in the well equipped kitchen, and then a soak in the hot tub before retiring to bed. There is no internet at the cabin, nor is there cell phone reception, but both are readily available with two minute walk. This was a fabulous reconnect for our family of four. Everyone had their own VERY comfortable bed and room, and yet we were closer than here at our own house because no one could disappear to be on the computer for hours, get lost watching extended cable channels, or texting the day/night away. We played cards and board games or picked a DVD to watch as a family every night.

The cabin is surrounded by natural beauty. We can't wait to return hopefully in autumn when the leaves turn.
