Just Right for a Family of Four

We just spent two weeks at this cabin, and even the teenager was happy! We loved the time we spent at the cottage. It is clean and modern, and yet very charming. You are in the middle of nature, but a very short walk to an excellent latte and wi-fi. There are excellent art galleries in Marshall as well as a wonderful used bookstore. The locals are so helpful and friendly, they really want you there. Be sure to checkout the free bluegrass concerts at the old train depot, local muscians playing at Zuma Coffee, and if you need advice about ANYTHING, talk to anyone working behind the counter at Goodstuff. They also have computers at Goodstuff and don't charge anything to use them or the internet. We enjoyed $40 hour long massages in Hot Springs, river rafting, and caught tons of trout at a local's pond. We also frequently ventured into Asheville to take in art galleries, The Biltmore (spend the extra $ and take the audio tour, highly worth it) theatre and great restaurants. I recommend Doc Chey's Noodle House. Don't miss La Zooms Comedy Bus Tour of Ashville. You'll learn a lot and laugh even more. Asheville has a very interesting and funny history. Asheville also has a fantastic art scene it's sort of a Santa Fe of the South.
We would venture out during the day, then come back to the cottage and enjoy cooking dinner in the well equipped kitchen, and then a soak in the hot tub before retiring to bed. There is no internet at the cabin, nor is there cell phone reception, but both are readily available with two minute walk. This was a fabulous reconnect for our family of four. Everyone had their own VERY comfortable bed and room, and yet we were closer than here at our own house because no one could disappear to be on the computer for hours, get lost watching extended cable channels, or texting the day/night away. We played cards and board games or picked a DVD to watch as a family every night.
The cabin is surrounded by natural beauty. We can't wait to return hopefully in autumn when the leaves turn.
