Kahana Vacation Rental condo

The Royal Kahana is located in an extremely nice area and is within walking distance of restaurants and shopping facilities. It is also convenient to the Kapalua resort however a car is pretty much an essential, particularly if you plan to do any golfing. There is bus service nearby to get to other parts of the island including the Lahaina town site and the Kaanapali Resort, both of which are well worth visiting.

The suite has an awesome view of the ocean and is very comfortable with a modern kitchen, balcony, large bedroom with a queen bed; the living room has a pull-out sofa bed and a large flat screen TV. There are 4 gas bar-b-ques near the beach which we used almost every night to cook dinner. We hardly ever ate at restaurants as it is so enjoyable to cook on the bar-b-que and eat in the room.

There is something special about Maui. People seem to always seem to be friendly and relaxed and the scenery is spectacular. This part of the island is never too hot and when it rains it is usually for a short time. There always seems to be a gentle cooling breeze. You can go for a stroll in the evening and feel perfectly safe.

One of my favorite spots is a small coffee and ice cream cafe with wireless internet service which is situated in the Kahana Plaza, although this may become a Starbucks. There is a convenience store close by with groceries, souvenirs, and beer and wine.

If you like to work on your golf game, you can't beat the Kapalua practise range. The most beautiful driving range you can imagine and a short game practise where you can spend the whole day if you want.

I watched the Mercedes Championship at the Plantation Course which is about a 10 minute drive from the Royal Kahana. You will need to be in really good shape to follow a group on this course but there are quite a few spectator areas where you can sit and watch; my favorite is the tee on the short par 3 11th.

The Bay Course is a great course to play with a stretch of holes (#3 to #5) along the ocean with breath-taking views. It is pretty pricey at $200 plus but if you don't mind playing after 1:00 it is around $125. This is also about 10 minutes from the Royal Kahana. There are about 10 other courses on Maui worth playing which are 30 to 60 minutes away.

Over-all, a very enjoyable experience. With regard to the rental arrangement, everything went smoothly.
