We are local Manuel Antonio business owners who split our time living in Austin, Texas and Manuel Antonio Costa Rica. We are empty nesters who enjoy travel and working at our hotel in Manuel Antonio. We are grandparents and dog owners which is why we travel back and forth between the U.S. and Costa Rica.
Sari Henley purchased this villa in 2006
We bought Casa Sarita to live in while conducting business at Hotel Byblos Resort and Casino which we also are part owners in. The house is a five minute walk from the hotel, so it seemed the perfect place to buy and Sari fell in love with it the first time she saw it. The beach is so close we can hear the waves from our upstairs bedroom, and we have lots of monkeys visiting us almost every day. As animal lovers who leave dogs behind in the U.S., the wildlife at our home fills that void.
Full use of Byblos Hotel is included in all Casa Sarita Rentals. Our hotel has a full Reception Staff to help with all tour bookings and ground transportation arrangements. Chef services can also be booked thru our Reception Staff for a special night at Casa Sarita.
This was our second trip to Quepos/Manuel Antonio and stayed at Hotel Byblos and Casa Sarita. Both accommodations were just amazing!! The bungalows are beautifully done and gives the feeling of your own little getaway. Casa Sarita is a gorgeous five bedroom three bath house that is spacious and comfortable. Loved sitting on the third floor balcony watching the monkeys spring from tree to tree to waking up to the howler monkeys. Sari and Davis, the owners of Casa Sarita and the hotel are so welcoming and so personable. We loved sitting down at the restaurant by the pool and enjoying their company at our table. Anything we wanted to do or had questions they were just a wealth of information as was their staff to setting up our tours to making sure our stay at their beautiful Casa Sarita home had everything we needed for our comfort. The staff at the hotel are so friendly and accommodating. The area is gorgeous and loved the visiting monkeys and all the wildlife this beautiful and magical piece of heaven on earth has to offer. I would recommend the hotel and Casa Sarita without hesitation to anyone wanting a peaceful and relaxing getaway to anyone that wants an adventure of a lifetime. Go and enjoy all this beautiful place has to offer. I promise you will not be disappointed. You will return again and again. Thanks again Sari and Davis... Pura Vida!!!!

Our family of 14 just got back from a one week stay at Casa Sarita in Manuel Antonio. The house was immaculate and the maid service wonderful. Really neat stone showers. The location was perfect. We walked everywhere and had delicious food. Many good restaurants to pick from. Everyone was super friendly. We had five days of activities which the Byblos hotel organized for us
which included horseback riding, jet skiing, snorkeling,
sailing, rainforest, National Park tour, surfing, wood
factory, and everyone's favorite the Titi Canopy zip line.
We saw lots of monkeys from the balcony while reading
in the hammock and it felt like we were living in a
National Geographic movie. The tour guides were so
knowledgeable and we learned so much about the
area. The breakfasts at the Byblos were great every
morning and the coffee outstanding ~ just like the
This was an amazing trip.... We did a little bit of everything!!! We had monkeys and tucans greeting us in the mornings, and more monkeys in the evenings and beautiful birds! Everyone at the hotel Byblos was very helpful and nice... Breakfasts are great there! So much fun! So many activities!!!! We all loved it!!!!
Our extended family of 9 rented Casa Sarita in late December. The house is immaculate and having a housekeeper come every day is wonderful. Three levels make it seem so open and the light is wonderful. We saw more wildlife at the house than we did in the National Park.
The hill down to the house is VERY steep and is not appropriate for anyone with health issues. It was a holiday week so every house nearby was occupied and there was some noise and cars coming and going. But not so loud or so late that it was really annoying.
The staff at Byblos hotel was wonderful throughout our stay-helping with reservations, excursions, etc. There are many restaurants very close to the house too. Beaches are NOT walkable so you will need to have a car.
All in all, a wonderful home and relaxing trip. Thank you.
I can't believe none of our group posted a review yet!! We were a group of 5 college friends meeting here to celebrate our "50". The house us awsome! We enjoyed the small pool at the house. The hotel Byblos was nice- we had breakfast there every am and the staff steered us just right in excursions. I agree with the other reviews- the walk to the hotel and the road is very steep- not for anyone with mobility issues. But it was a wonderful active vacation spot. We saw all kinds of monkeys sloths and frogs right at the house! Manuel Antonio park was beautiful, and the best beach is there inside the park. Highly recommend Casa sarita and this area!
We stayed at Casa Sarita for almost 3 weeks. My 6 year old daughter and I arrived 10 days ahead of my husband, 17 year old son & 16 year old friend. We arrived by communter plane from San Jose which was a shaky ride coming in (in a driving thunderstorm) but easy on the way back. It was far better than taking a bus or getting a cab at the airport in San Jose.
The staff at Hotel Byblos were kind & helpful, setting us up with zip lining, offshore/inshore fishing, spa treatments at the casa, a catamaran cruise, and gave us directions and advice that was all very good. We also enjoyed using the hotel pool, pool tables in the bar, and we ordered pizza at least 4-5 times (that they will deliver to the house).
The house is exactly like the pictures portray - roomy & very pretty. It's rustic and very comfortable at the same time. You feel like you're in Costa Rica - artisan-made details/windows/doors/furniture are simple and authentic. It's kitchen is just so-so if you plan to do real cooking, but it sufficient if you plan to eat out most of the time. The one thing I missed the most from home was having a bath tub. The showers are attractive, but not that functional - no shower curtain, not all the knobs turn the correct way for hot/cold or are on a consistent side throughout the house. Only one person can shower at a time and have hot water for his or her shower. Jeanette is the housekeeper who comes everyday, and she is lovely - an asset to the property
Breakfast at the hotel every morning is a big plus. We didn't use it everyday, but almost. It's a good way to start off a day on vacation in Costa Rica, because you will probably be doing some serious walking, if not hiking.
Speaking of walking...the walk from the casa to the main road (where Hotel Byblos is located) is very steep. If you have issues with mobility, this is not the house for you. I didn't mind the walk after I got used to it (thought of it as my exercise), but my kids complained. For that reason we called a lot of taxis (ended up with a regular taxi driver (Edwin), a must).
Enjoyed the porch for watching monkeys and beach/rainforest gazing. Kids loved the pool.
We ate all over Manuel Antonio, but our favorite was Kapi Kapi for nice dining and Cafe Agua Azul (at the top of the hill from the casa) for casual dining. The boys enjoyed the fishing, and my daughter enjoyed the zip lining the most. I enjoyed the beach/park, even though it sometimes felt like a trek.
Casa Sarita was an awesome vacation retreat. The hotel staff were very accomodating. All requests or needs were met with a positive attitude. Casa Sarita has enough bedrooms to sleep at least 10 people. The view is spectacular seeing the ocean, monkeys, sloth, flowers and birds. The buffet breakfast each morning was delicious. The fresh fruit was amazing. I loved my trip and hope to go back in the near future.
Casa Sarita is located in one of the most exclusive coastal areas in Costa Rica. This home offers an outstanding home base from which to experience some of the most exotic excursions Costa Rica has to offer. The private jungle setting brings monkeys right to your door. Beautiful Manuel Antonio State Park & Beach is located 1 mile from the house. Top area restaurants and a Spa Uno are within a 5 minute walk from the house. Full use of Hotel Byblos is included in your stay. Local bus is a short walk from the house, which runs between Quepos and Manuel Antonio National Park every 30 minutes.
Other Activities: ATV Tours, Canopy Tours, Manuel Antonio State Park,Jet Skiing Tours, Spa, horseback rides on beach or in mountains, Dolphin Watching, 13th most beautiful beach in the world is 1 mile from our home! All tours will pick you up at either Casa Sarita or Hotel Byblos. A meal is included with many of the tours.
Golf: Golf is available at Los Suenos Resort in Jaco which is a 35 minute drive from Manuel Antonio.
