25 steps from the beach - this recently refurbished studio offers a partial ocean view, an equipped kitchenette, bath, A/C, one king size bed, Internet, Cable TV, breakfast table, ample closet space - sleeps up to 2 persons and is located on Isla Verde Beach next to Hotel ESJ Towers. Tropical atmosphere with access to two of the best beaches in San Juan, night clubs, shopping, pharmacies, hotels and casinos in the San Juan Area. Everything is within walking distance. Also has one parking space for car rentals and a coin laundry provided by the Condo.
The place was great overall. Went with my girlfriend for a beach getaway. Their assistant Mirna was easy to deal with and prompt. It was great to be so close to the beach. The description of "25 steps away" is pretty accurate. It is a small studio with a small bathroom but was all we needed. I enjoyed the strong A/C which was nice cooling off to after a day of laying out in the sun. The beach at Carolina was very nice. There was food vendor set up right next to the apartment building where we were able to order pina colodas out of hollowed out coconuts and eat fried shrimp and plantains, among other great dishes. There was a gentleman selling hand rolled cigars on the beach for $5 each, which was awesome. The neighborhood felt safe and there was a Walgreens nearby (2 or 3 blocks) which came in handy on numerous occasions. They also sell $12 bottles of Bacardi which is great. There are a lot of great restaurants around, I especially recommend La Playita which is literally across the street from this property. They have tables along the water and was absolutely gorgeous to eat at during the sunset on our last night. It has a ton of good reviews on yelp. Although the airport was really close by, the noise wasn't really an issue to me. The planes don't fly directly over the apartment so I couldn't even really hear them when I was in the apartment trying to sleep. It was nice being so close during arrival and departure, made the cab rides pretty cheap. While we were there, we rented a car for a day and went to Luquillo Beach (GORGEOUS) which is on the Northeast corner of the island - about 35 min away. We also went to El Yunque (sp?) national forest which is a rainforest in the mountains with trails and we got to swim around at the bottom of a waterfall. It was a blast. The only area for improvement would be to get a real king size bed instead of two twins joined together. Overall a minor inconvenience - still had a great time.
I was thoroughly pleased with my stay in Isla Verde.
The building was extremely quiet. The neighbors were extremely friendly. The area was perfect! I have absolutely no complaints at all. Right off the beach, tons of great authentic places to eat in the area, and plenty of police around if you need an extra feeling of security.
Thanks Irma and Myrna for making my first trip to PR an amazing and cultural experience I will never forget.
We were late to arrive and had difficulty finding the building. Staff answered quickly and connected with us to guide us into the gated parking.
On introduction to the apartment we were pleased to know the images had not deceived us.
Beach towels, beach chairs and a cooler all made our trips to the rest of Puerto Rico's balnearios quite interesting.
The studio was easily cleaned as it's cozy not unreasonably so given that we had a view of the ocean and could hear the wind in the palm trees while waves hit the shore. It was wonderful to watch the sunset from bed or the beach.
Of great joy was to find the only road maps which we'd been unable to find during our stays in the Aquadilla area or anywhere else on Puerto Rico.
Thank you to Myrna [not allowed to post the company.. sorry] and owner for making my first visit to Puerto Rico such a joy! I'll be back!
We were late to arrive which compounded our difficulty experienced with GPS in Puerto Rico. Myrna [ Vida Urbana's employee] graciously met us in the pouring rain after dark with nothing but our brief description and location given to guide us into the gated parking garage.
On awakening the next morning we were delighted to see the ocean and palm trees from our bed.
Delightfully clean, easily kept with a bar size fridge to keep food/drinks cool. The apartment comes with 2 beach chairs, a cooler - towels separated by colour as to whether they were to be used for beach or shower usage. The kitchen included a coffee maker, microwave, toaster and stove-top as well as basic cooking materials and eating utensils/plates/bowls.
There are lots of shops within walking distance along with casinos, stores and restaurants.
The elevator was a tad quirky in that it rarely stopped parallel to whatever floor you were headed for which would make this building not accessible for those in wheelchairs or completely reliant on mobility devices.
Close to bus, or other transportation I'd stay there again! In fact - how soon!
We absolutely LOVED our stay at the property. The location was excellent, and it was a bonus to be able to park our rental car there. The place was very secure, with several keys required to get into the building and your room, so we felt really safe. It was great to have the beach chairs, towels and cooler for our time at the beach. The beach is wonderful, just steps away from the apartment, and the area of town is great with lots to see, and great places to eat.
We loved Puerto Rico in general. If you visit, stay here, as it is right beside great (and expensive hotels), and a much more reasonable place to stay, and has everything you need (comfortable king size bed, little kitchen and fridge so you can save money on food). Take the bus into Old San Juan (only 75cents!!), which is so lovely. Check in and check out were also very smooth.
Only thing that was too bad was that you couldn't put toilet paper in the toilet; something we definitely weren't used to, but we got used to it :)
We had a great stay. The building is nice and quiet and convenient to everything. The property managers were very helpful. WIth the windows open at night it was great to fall asleep listening to the waves hitting the beach. We would definitely come back. Thank you for everything.
I am happy you enjoyed your stay.
Your good comments are very helpful for us. So can you please take some time and post
your review on a link I will send for Homeaway. I will really appreciate it.
For starters making the reservation was easy and painless, signing a contract made me feel better about the entire transaction, thank you Irma for helping me with the contract and the entire transaction and for helping me locate myself. As for Eddie he was amazing and very helpful, he had someone there to deliver the keys on a timely manner, had a little problem and he was there promptly to take care of it. As for the apartment it is just perfect for two people, we were provided with everything we needed from beach towels, regular towels, beach chairs, iron and ironing board, dishes, coffee make, refrigerator, and basic toiletries. I’m so happy with it I already recommended friends. Also my deposit was returned within the week.
Let's not forget to mention the sea only a few steps away the view, smell and sound from the window just breath taking!
