The sugar sand beach is 20 steps away with a boardwalk down to the water (no stairs). 4 blocks to the quaint shops and restaurants downtown South Haven. Kal-Haven Trail (biking/hiking) close by as well as golfing, wineries, antiquing, and back roads to explore. Come and make some great memories!

  • Peak season rates are from mid June thru Labor Day, mostly full weeks are available though a few weekends may be also. The weekly rate for peak season is $2200, nightly rate for peak season is $325, two night minimum.
  • Off season rates are mid May thru mid June and after Labor Day. The weekly rates for off season are $1200 per week or $225 per night, two night minimum with third night only $100 extra.

Renovations of Lemon Slice: The cottage was purchased in the fall of 2006. Nothing had been done to it in many years and was pretty much inhabitable. The ceiling was taken out, 2 walls and part of the floor was rotten and replaced. The whole cottage was opened up with a cathedral ceiling taking the place of the old tile dropped ceiling. New ceilings were put in the bedrooms but I kept the bead board and the old windows in the bedrooms because they had so much character! New flooring, cabinets, fixtures, appliances, paint, mattresses and furniture throughout. It is darling and waiting for a summer vacation with you!

South Haven, MI: South Haven is a quaint town and has so much to offer. There are 3 golf courses close by. Glenn Golf Course, South Haven Golf Course and Hawks Head Golf Course (Hawk's Head has an excellent restaurant). Blue Star Highway used to be the main highway from Holland to Chicago, it is a great road with antique stores, small towns and scenic views. The shops downtown South Haven are so fun to browse and find a trinket to take home or an ice cream to lick on. There are some wonderful restaurants in South Haven to make everyone happy, from simple and inexpensive to gourmet and pricey. The beaches are the best with the blue sky and the bluer water, which looks different every day! Come and experience for yourself.

The Lemon Slice is very charming, very clean and comfortable and exactly as described. Perfect location! Lots of hot water for showers. Very comfy beds. Terrific patio for catching the sunsets. Easy walk to Downtown shops and restaurants. The beach is clean and family friendly. Plenty for our 10, 12 and 14 year olds to do on the beach and in the water. The Sugar Shack, as we called it, rents vollyball nets and balls, sells frizbees, floaties, sunscreen and yummy snacks. All at fairly reasonable prices considering it's so convenient. I will highly recommend the Lemon Slice to one and all.

The Lemon Slice is a perfect spot for a relaxing time at the beach! In fact, it isn't very many steps to the sandy beach! It is quite roomy inside, and very neat and clean. The decor is also very nice - beadboard, soothing blues, yellows, and light greens. Even the bed was comfortable! We watched the sunset every night from the front porch :) There are windows everywhere which means lots of light and lots of nice breezes. The kitchen is updated with plenty of food storage available. The owner is very nice and quite accomodating -I had flight-time arrival issues which she was quite willing to work around. I will definitely stay there again.

This is such a charming place to get away. It has the wonderful cottage feel, and so convenient to the beach. Everything I needed was available and it is very comfortable and clean.
