I fell in love with Raystown Lake while camping and boating there. It's absolutely beautiful. I also wanted a log home that was private and secluded within a few miles of the lake.
Even though the Mountain Rendezvous is very close to Raystown Lake and boat launches, it is extremely quite and peaceful.
My friends and I were looking for a place to get away from it all for a weekend and this place was perfect for that. It was a fairly secluded house with only one far away neighbor in sight. The interior was very comfortable. We particularly liked the wood burning stove. The interior was fairly well maintained with only a few minor repairs needed. The exterior was pretty with a wrap around porch and a swing. The owner was very nice and was easy to work with. The last half mile to the house is very rough with rocks and steep hills. However we were able to make it easily even with our small car. However, I would guess you would need a 4x4 if there was a lot of snow.
I would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking to escape to the woods for a few days.
This rental felt comfortable and warm from the time we went in. Our stay was a short two nights and we wish we had more. I have been and will recommend this location to family and friends. It is well maintained, the owner was such a pleasure to work with, the view's incredible. Extremely private but still close enough...
The Mountain Rendezvous was the prefect place for a peaceful weekend get away! This beautiful home is surrounded by screne forest views with a large yard and a firepit for unwinding at night. We had a fantastic time and are already talking about planning another stay next year! Thank you so much!
Beautiful private location. Very clean cabin and well stocked kitchen. The layout of the cabin was great for our family. In the evenings we enjoyed the pool table, nice lawn for yard games, and the fire pit. The listing info is accurate as to what ammenities are available and the owner was super to work with. i would recommend this retreat to freiends and family. Had a wonderful, peaceful vacation!
Charming place. It truly is off the beaten path, so be prepared to take a short dirt road back to the cabin. At first the water had a strong sulphur smell, but once we ran the hot water for a little bit, everything was fine. I think it was only because we were the first ones out there for some time. Gorgeous view and very quiet. Perfect if you're looking for a rustic and peaceful place to stay that is still close to activities. We enjoyed our stay.
Wonderful log home with spectacular valley view from the spacious deck. Close to great boating, hiking, and mountain biking the Allegrippis Trail. We brought all the toys. Fished and kayaked in the morning, explored lake coves in the afternoon. Evening around the campfire topped off the day. Already planning our return trip.
