Adorable studio apartment in pristine condition and now available for Fall weekend getaway or summer weekly rental. Apartment has a private entrance and is set up for the individual or couple who enjoy relaxation and cherish nature and the environment of a sleepy ocean side village. Surrounded by beaches and nature, this area represents what beach areas used to look like before developers took over. A biking excursion (bikes are provided) reveals farms, pastures and wooded areas that abut directly to the ocean beaches. Nearby salt water ponds and protected nature reserves play host to dozens of species of migrating birds. At night one falls asleep to the sound of ocean waves crashing ashore and distant fog horns over the ocean. Great for nature walks, strolling the quiet beach, biking on the country roads, and just relaxing. Adjoining deck with garden views (arbor and labyrinth) and distant water views. At night relax and enjoy the warm woodstove hearth.

Quiet, well maintained+very clean.

Owners were very friendly and accommodating. Room is attached to the main house, in a residential neighborhood and has a beautiful view of it's picture perfect backyard. The balcony offers a view of the lovingly maintained and manicured vine trellis and stone labyrinth, a relaxing and quiet location to enjoy a meal for two. There is a small, modern kitchen with mini fridge, and fold away table. The room is well lit and is spacious-feeling, with plenty of windows on three sides, and a ceiling fan which offers plenty of cool comfort. The fold-down queen sized bed was comfortable,
The restaurants and nightlife we enjoyed were about a half an hour away, although there was a small market and restaurant about 10 minutes walk from the room. There are plenty of scenic places to ride bicycles without having to drive somewhere first, although shelter for the bikes from the rain is not available at the room. There is a surf shop next to an area where there is (free) access to a beach with waves big enough to surf. There is a charge to use the town beach, which is about the same distance, but it is better maintained. The driveway supports two visiting (compact) cars.

Nearby gasoline stations offered 87octane at $4.07-$4.29 as of July 3, 2008, but were at least 10 minutes drive. (Of course we are from CT, and this was a welcome site at any distance!)

I would recommend this room to a couple, looking for a quiet getaway with nearby access to beaches, nightlife, and excellent restaurants.

Overall, we were pleased with our choice to stay here.

My husband and I just loved the studio. It was beautifully decorated, clean and very comfortable. The yard was wonderful and a very relaxing place to sit.
Close to the beach and many places for us to kayak. We will defiantly go back.

Relaxing and comfortable

My husband and I enjoyed our stay in this studio. It was larger than we expected, clean and beautifully decorated. Everything is new. It was easy to bike to the beach through the small, quiet town. The backyard is also spectacular. The only thing we didn't care for was the occasional sound of the beach road traffic. The sound went away when we closed the patio door. The owners recommended the lighthouse tour which was a lot of fun and reasonably priced. We would recommend this property to a friend and will probably return next year.

Matunuck is located in South Kingston R.I. It's a very low key area. Maybe like the Hamptons were back when poor artists went there to get away from NYC in the summer.

The rental is within biking distance to the beach which charges $15 per car to park. Also within biking distance, an amazing market on the local farm. This little area is charming. Picture the ocean, fields of grass and corn, then houses. There is a surf shop, ice cream store, grocery store, coffee shop and coin laundry. We saw tons of rabbits, a fox, lots of birds. The area is surrounded by nature preserves.

The space itself is private. Very, very clean. The bed was comfortable. It's the perfect space for a couple. Lots of attention to detail. Pleasing to the eye and comfortable.

On rainy days Newport is only a 30 min drive. Champlin's serves the best fresh fish. Wakefield has a bookstore, organic market and some nice antique shops. Bistro by the Sea was a fun place to eat.

It was a perfect getaway from NYC, only a 3-4hr drive. It has the feeling of a real community where people take pride in the neighborhood and they welcome guests. The area didn't feel strained or overrun with people and shopping.

We had a great time!
