Haines City Vacation Rental house

I admit I was a bit concerned about renting a private home for our Florida vacation. We were taking my parents and my son and daughter-in-law would also be joining us for a few days. Trying to book hotel rooms together isn't always easy, especially during the busy Xmas/New Years time.
My experience with A1 Vacations was very positive. They have the "book with confidence guarantee' and we were able to communicate with the room owners as well as the property managers.
Being in a gated community was nice. We felt very secure. The subdivision is clean and quiet.We took early morning walks and saw people enjoying the beautiful golf course that is right out the back door.
The home itself was clean and had everything you would need to be comfortable. There were no stairs to climb and the pool had a security fence around it along with extra security locks on the patio door. My mother did comment though that she wished the pool had a hand rail so that it would be easier for someone her age to get in/out after a swim.
I really liked having a washer and dryer so that I didn't go home with 10 days of dirty laundry and wet bathing suits.
The furniture was nice and the linens were clean/abudant.
There were 7 of us on this trip ranging in age from 17 to 70, and we were able to enjoy being together and yet still have our privacy. 1 more chair in the living room might have been nice, but we spent little time actually sitting around!
The location of this property was nice. We traveled all over from one side of Florida to another and all points in between and never felt like we drove far. Haines City is nice and the people are friendly. The have many restaurants and store very close. (Our personal favorite restaurant was Sonny's BBQ, the food was good and the folks there are really nice).
The directions to the property were easy to follow and we got around easily. I liked being away from the Orlando area. There was way less traffic and it was cheaper at the stores and gas stations.
The property owners contacted us by email a few time and answered our questions and wished us a nice trip. The property managers are available if there were to be ay problems. There is a phone and written instructions with contact numbers at the house. We did in fact call the property management people when it turned
cool the last two days of our trip and asked if they could bump up the heat in the pool so that we could still enjoy the water. Our request was granted quickly and we never even knew they were there. Being from Illinois, I can't tell you how nice it was to be swimming at 11pm on New Years Eve! We really loved having a private pool for our family, something that never happens in a hotel. (and if there is anyone else out there that is past their bikini wearing days, you know exactly what I mean.)
My daughter-in-law has already asked her parents and sister to book this property for a family get away. She thought it was fun and they have golfers in the family so she is sure that they would love it.
Even though we visited during the priciest time of the year, I believe we saved money and a lot of hassle by staying at My Kokomo Home as opposed to a hotel. Our stay was filled with lots of fun and great memories, but next time I believe we might take things a little slower and relax more. And there will be a next time!
