Getting around Paris is also extremely easy from rue de Steinkerque. Metro Anvers (one minute away on boulevard de Rochechouart at the bottom of rue de Steinkerque) is on the East-West line 2, which takes you via Monceau and the fashionable 17th and 8th arrondissements to the Arc de Triomphe in one direction, and Nation via Pere Lachaise cemetery in the other. Walk five minutes to Metro Abbesses and you’re on the North-South line 12, which going South takes you to Gare St Lazare, for “Les Grands Magasins”, Madeleine, Concorde, and onto the Left Bank - Solferino (for Musee d’Orsay), Sevres Babylone (for Bon Marche) and finally Montparnasse.
The owners request that no shoes be worn in the apartment as they mark and make a noise for the neighbours.
There are also two useful buses nearby. Catch number 30 on Boulevard de Rochechouart, for Trocadero, via Arc de Triomphe, in one direction and Gare du Nord in the other. Catch number 67 by Pigalle metro (5 minutes walk away) for the Hotel de Ville and beyond onto the Left Bank.
If you don’t fancy public transport, “Les Grands Magasins”, Opera and Madeleine are a gentle 20 minute stroll down the hill.
