Photos and Description of the Taos vacation house rental
Casa - 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s) - 2 Baths -*NEW casita-1 bed and 1 bath

Casa de Cuentos - House of Stories - is the perfect, peaceful place to rest. Located halfway between the town of Taos and the Taos Ski Valley, our adobe 'home-away-from-home' is private & close to everything you may want to do while in the Taos area, if you feel like leaving. Our hot tub, pool table, movie and book library will provide lots of entertainment. Sit by one of the four Kiva fireplaces to dream stories, tell stories or write stories. Wood-beamed ceilings, wood and saltillo tiles throughout add to the warmth of Casa de Cuentos. There is a separate den area with additional living room and Kiva if one needs space from others while visiting. A beautifully, talavera-tiled breakfast bar sits in-between open kitchen/dining area.

You have fabulous views of the mountains out the north-side: large windows frame the mountains perfectly and let them in to the living/dining area. To the south - you have expansive views of the valley and hot air balloons can be viewed floating eye-level or below in the distance.

Pinons and sagebrush are the native plants that blanket the grounds of Casa de Cuentos and their sweet smells are all of the aromatherapy you will need while at this tranquil adobe.

4 Kiva Fireplaces--perfect places to sit and read stories , tell stories , or write stories. A supply of wood provided in the adobe-walled courtyard.

Great spring holiday in Taos

We had a great time in Casa de Cuentos, Taos. Since the day we booked, the owner and her friend that is in charge of the house, sent us a lot of useful information for our trip. The day we arrived the house received us with a cosy ambience and a bottle of red wine, so charming. The house is in excelent conditions, fully equiped and very comfortable. The location is great since its just 15 min to Taos center and best of all, 15 min to Taos Ski Valley. I recommend to visit Río Grande Gorge and all the great natural places that New Mexico offer.

We had a great time at the Casa. It had everything we needed, including a portable crib, high chair, humidifier, fully stocked kitchen, and washer & dryer. Our favorite part was the pool table, though! ;)

I miss it already!

This was one of those few perfect vacations! This was our 25th anniversary and we wanted to treat ourselves by going someplace neither of us as been before - - which is tough, as my husband travels 2-3 weeks of every month for work! We wanted somewhere where we would not get caught up in what I call that "tourist chaos" you often find in other vacation spots, somewhere where we could unplug, spread out, relax and get away from the stresses of life. The house was everything the description said it would be. This is clearly was a well-cared for home and not just a rental. Taos and other nearby towns were fun and welcoming - - you could be as busy and sociable as you wanted to be, and there didn't seem to be the division between "locals" and "tourists" that you often find while on vacation. Red River, a nearby ski area, was a wonderful surprise we stumbled on while driving through the mountains. I get the feeling this is a New Mexico secret - - a Breckenridge or Frisco before the rest of the country discovered them. And we enjoyed an afternoon exploring the Rio Grande Gorge from a nearby local access point that Tammi/KC directed us to, rather than the usual ones in the tourist guides. The whole area was stunningly beautiful and the fall colors were a bonus. We sat in the hot tub every evening, let the stars swallow us up and watched the nearly full moon rise. KC and Tammi made sure our every possible need/want was met, including a long list of local hangouts and making sure we were comfortable during a week when temperatures varied widely. We left relaxed, re-energized and ready to face real life again, and we will definitely try to come back.

Perfect ending to a long vacation

Our family of 6 was extremely pleased when we finally arrived after a grueling week and a half of non-stop driving from destination to destination. With 3 teenagers, the game room was PERFECT! The quiet is so full it is almost too much for the mind to comprehend at first. The hot tub was wonderful, the stars beautiful and the hummingbirds enchanting. Thank you for sharing this treasure and putting such thought and care into everything the restless spirit needs to bring it back to it's sense of peace. We will definately be back to find ourselves again when the rat race takes it's toll! May God bless your journey to retirement in such a lovely home.
