If you are thinking of staying here, than you must know Folkston is about trains. And this is a great place for seeing plenty of train action, my family and myself stayed for 3 nights an saw over 230 train movements. The lodge is larger than the average hotel room and has a full kitchen and nice size bath, both have been updated and are very clean. Meals and location is were the lodge beats a hotel/motel hands down. We stocked up at the local grocery store and cooked most of our meals. With the stove/oven, microwave and regular size refrigerator, meals were just like at home and you don't have to miss any train action. The back porch is great and has a good view of the tracks and if desired the platform is less than a minute away. The lodge is a train watchers paradise. Its a fantastic place stay. I have been coming to Folkston for many years now and this is the way to do Folkston and with the caboose lodge coming, it will be even better.
