|Minimum Stay||3 nights|
Warm, spacious, cedar home overlooking the home's natural warm pool and a partial ocean view with palm trees and lovely ocean breezes. The geothermal pool is private and relaxing, the open and covered decks are large, with a spacious open living room area for casual comfortable living. Three bedrooms, two queens, one with two single beds, all with ceiling fans. Very short walk to ocean shoreline, large warm 'Champagne Pond' and further on 'University Pond', ocean pools to snorkel and swim with green sea turtles!! Located in private gated community. Your home away from home, with beautiful sunrises, open skies while cruising on the deck...hear the ocean lulling you to sleep.
Kapoho is country oceanside living not for those who want city life, it is a quiet, relaxing community!
What a great escape! If you love to be near the
water and love to snorkel and explore, come on and
stay at this wonderful house.
The best snorkeling on the Big Island is here with
the Champagne Pond two blocks away and a view
from the deck like nothing other in the early
morning and at night. Stars for days and days to be
a star in this great retreat. If you like remote, this is
for you. Pahoa, which is about 20 mins away has
some great restaurants and a cash only market and
a great natural foods store. This place is changing
like crazy, so get there before the natural life is all
lost. Last 'real' Hawaii is here.
The conservation area, which is a short walk or
drive, is spectacular with snorkeling pools of
splendor. Coral and sealife everywhere.
Watch the tides so you know when to see the sea
turtles in the Champagne Pond. They come and go
with the high tide.
You'll sleep like a baby here, with the winds and
rain that happen to pass in the evening and early
Too splendid for your get away. Enjoy.
Clean, comfortable house. Nice water feature in yard--a warm secluded pond to sit in and watch the stars. Near to a lot of great activities by car or even walking distance for some.
Nice wrap around deck with some ocean view & shade options. Friendly, helpful owners.
Well equipped, nicely furnished, near Champagne Pond. A bit remote and a little far from restaurants etc. Clean and well maintained.
What a lovely home and location!
We came to The Cedar House not knowing exactly what to expect and we fell in love with the place.
The house is situated with a wonderful breeze and beautiful views! We loved sitting on the lanai, watching the birds by day and stars by night. We found the house to be very clean and well-maintained, which made for a great stay.
The famous Champagne pond is just a short, easy walk down the road and is always just the right temperature with clear water to enjoy. Also, the snorkeling at the neighboring Wai'opae Ponds is some of the best snorkeling on the island, with easy enjoyment for any levels of expereince (beginner to advanced).
During our stay, we went on an exciting guided hike to see active lava flow - it was awesome! We've never seen anything else like it! Also, Pahoa is a small town about 20 min. away with some great Thai food and other restaurants.
We would absolutely recommend this place to anyone that is considering a visit -- and we have every intention of returning!!!
The house is in the perfect spot to enjoy the wonderful Champaign Pond, located a short 5 minute walk away. This location allows you to easily enjoy all that the Kapoho area has to offer, geothermal heated ponds, tidepools for snorkeling and the ocean right down the street. The house has beautiful grounds, lushly landscaped and has an incredible view from the deck. It even has its own natural hot pond to splash around in. Paula, the owner is one of the most accommodating people I've ever met. She tries to make sure that everything goes smoothly. We really enjoyed our stay.
My husband and I stayed at the Cedar home in May 2012.
We had a very good time in Kapoho!
I have visited to Honolulu many times, but it is my first time to stay in Big Island.
This area is very different from Oahu.
The natural scenery is unique and wonderful!!
The champagne pond is nearby.
It is very unique spot!(^^)
You can hear sound of champagne bubble.
All Tide pool is warm and very clear, so we enjoyed snorkel and swim.
We are from Japan, and I can’t speak English well.
But Paula is very kind and provide intelligible informations for me.
I appreciate her support.
Unfortunately, I missed the turtles.
We will be back to Kapoho in the future!!
