Description of the Wellfleet vacation house rental
PROPERTY PHOTOS-Please Note: The pictures have not been updated since we purchased this home in 2007. Thus, the pictures show the property when we bought it last year. Thus, all the furniture was replaced, all new stainless appliances, front loading washer/dryer (Whirlpool Duets), etc.
We welcome you to our family home we call the “Island Getaway” on Lt. Island, Wellfleet. As you drive across the Lt. Island Marsh Bridge, our home is on the second island, which is much more private, secluded and further out than homes located on the first island. In fact, both private beaches are on the 2nd island and one beach is just a short stroll down a sandy road from our home and close enough for small children to walk it easily. Lt. Island is a very unique place on Cape Cod; with lots of wildlife, walking trails, and two uncrowded private beaches. Lt. Island has 60 private homes, acres of undeveloped marsh with the remaining land owned by Mass. Audubon and Wellfleet Conservation Trust.

Our Island Getaway is readily accessible during non high tide via the Lt. Island access bridge and unpaved roads, which serve to keep it very secluded and free from traffic, preserving its tranquil setting. With that said, it is very convenient and you are never more than a quick 15 minute drive to the village with shops, restaurants, art galleries and even a drive-in theater that plays first run new releases! Of course, the Island Getaway can be your jumping off point to many well known beaches of the Cape Cod National Seashore including Nauset, Marconi, and Race Point. Within just 30 minutes you can be in Provincetown (P-Town) and enjoy great shopping, food, and drink. There are numerous bike and walking trails and we have provided local guide books for your use in planning day trips.

Our Island Getaway is a contemporary 3 bedroom year-round home built in the mid 1970s. It is fully furnished, meticulously clean, with linens, household items, Dish television, telephone with unlimited long distance, gas BBQ and even an outdoor shower when you come home from a swim. We equipped our home with all the modern conveniences you would have in your own home. We purchased our home on three lots which provides plenty of privacy under the shelter of the island’s pine trees.
There are new front loading washer/dryer machines (Whirlpool Duets) for your use...we even provide the laundry soap and dryer sheets! We have tried to provide everything except for your personal toiletries and clothes.
This is a pet friendly home. We do not believe in charging for the family pet nor is there any extra security deposit.
This is a non-smoking house for the comfort of our guests. If you smoke, please feel free to do so in any outdoor location including the deck.
