Description of the Gloucester - Annisquam vacation apartment rental
Second floor apartment on small beach at entrance to historic Rocky Neck art colony. Spectacular ocean views. Sit on your waterfront deck; watch sea birds in the cove ; sailboats and fishing boats pass by; in the evening enjoy sunsets over the water. On a clear day you can see to Boston. Want to swim? Just walk downstairs; bring your kayak or sketch pad.
Only a couple minutes walk from summer restaurants, art galleries and Gloucester Stage Company.

Gloucester is a popular tourist destination. The rugged shoreline dotted here and there with sandy beaches is a scenic delight. There are all manner of water activities: whale watch, deep sea fishing, kayaking, boat rides, swimming, etc. The rich tradition of the Gloucester fishing industry continues today; you can take a ride with a lobsterman, visit many venues featuring our boating and fishing history, and watch commercial fishing boats coming in and out of the harbor. There are many cultural offerings especially in the summer; museums, concerts, live stage, outdoor bandstands, and numerous art galleries as well as special summer festivals. There are several parks in Gloucester and many opportunities for hiking. You need never go 'across the bridge'; but if you want to, we are only one hour from Boston by train.
