Great location, fantastic for families.

Rented this unit on the 3rd week of August. Was my first time renting a condo. Guess what? Bye-bye hotels, I'm sold!
This property has plenty of space - which is important when you have three very active young children. We loved the two very large bedrooms on the second floor - we could then take it easy downstairs and keep talking to a normal volume, without risking to keep the kids awake during the evening. The fact that there are two full bathrooms (one per bedroom) was also very appreciated - we could keep the kids' mess contained to one single area.
The unit is located adjacent to the big hotels which are directly on the boardwalk - so although you don't get to view much of the beach, you're almost next to it. Just cross a single street and you're there. You're on the southern end of the boardwalk - it's quieter, I was told. Well, we never got bothered by any noise whatsoever, so I'd have to agree.
Car port on street level means your own private parking spot will always await you. Large balcony on the front side of the condo allows your whole family to eat outside if you want to.
Full kitchen, dishwasher and dining room - can save a lot on restaurants if needed.
Central A/C was great - not noisy at all. Made it very comfortable to come back from the beach. Contrast that to typical hotel A/C which wakes up everyone when it starts during the night... Definitely a plus.
On the negative side, nothing major but still need to mention that pigeons decided they loved the space above the outside shower and had a nest there. Didn't hear them at all, it simply means they left some - er, traces, near that outside shower. Also the bathroom in the second bedroom had some water dripping along the shower curtain side when the kids stayed there for more than 5 minutes (which isn't easy to reach when the three of them need to take their shower). This means some water could leak to that corner of the floor.
Guess that if these are the two only negative aspects we saw for a whole week, then this condo is very much worth it. It will cost less than the weekly price of a large hotel room with a kitchenette, while still providing you with ample space, cable TV, high-speed Internet access... And plenty of sand, sun and waves nearby.
Trust me folks - if you're looking to go to Virginia Beach and want the best bang for your buck, grab this condo. This is especially great for those of you with kids.
