Sweet Hansel & Gretel style beach home. Less than a ten minute walk (straight shot to West Cliff Drive at Mitchell's Cove), and just a mile from the Wharf & Santa Cruz Boardwalk. Better yet, our home is located even closer to some of the best surf spots (Cowell's Beach, Steamer Lane) this side of the Rockies. The Lighthouse (surfing museum) is a must-see on the cliff. Across from the beach house is Garfield Park. This is a small, beautifully lush little park lined with mature cypress trees. Perfect for shooting hoops, lying on the grass for reading or napping, or the perfect spot for a family barbeque. You have the best of all worlds with the sounds of sea lions barking or the train whistling nearby. If you need a break from the beach, it is just a short drive to the redwoods where you will find awesome hiking trails and rugged mountain bike trails. There is a grocery store, coffee shop, and book store within walking distance. If you have bikes, bring them!

A jewel in Santa Cruz!

We rented this Santa Cruz charmer for a week last July. We were enchanted the moment we entered the front door. The home is tastefully furnished and in excellent condition, obviously well cared for. The owner is a conractor, and it is readily apparent that this property has been kept in top condition. There were between four and seven of us staying in the house at any one time, and it never felt crowded. The kitchen is well appointed and spacious. The hot tub was a definite plus! There is a park across the street, making it a perfect spot for families with children.

The owners are accessible and accommodating, and this home made our vacation a delight. It is not beach front, but it is convenient to restaurants and grocery stores, and the beach is well within walking distance. The location--in a quiet residential neighborhood--was perfect. Parking is readily available. This property is reasonably priced, and an excellent choice for a Santa Cruz getaway.

Nice home w/lots of room. Close to park, groceries and beach. Internet not very reliable, worked maybe 2 hours during the wk we stayed.
