I am a mother of two kids under 7 and my husband shawn and I own the Mont Blanc Chalet in Estes Park.
The Owner purchased this house in 2007
We love Estes Park and have been coming here for decades. It is a great place to gather the whole extended family.
Our property has the most incredible view and an amazing great room for getting the whole family together for special occasions and holidays. We have a hot tub on the deck to enjoy the clear starry nights.
Beautiful home. Spectacular views!! Loved proximity to RMNP. I do believe there is not a place that has more elk than Estes. The are so fun to watch!
I visited with a group of friends to celebrate the new year, and we had a wonderful time! The property is well managed and the sleeping options are great! The bunk beds are full sized - quite large and great for the single folks in our group.
The view is INCREDIBLE from the deck! The living room is huge, as is the kitchen. We had issues getting the fireplace going, but received a phone call from the owner with instructions very promptly when we asked about it.
I would highly recommend this location, and may actually go back another time.
A+ service, and 5 stars for this property!
Mont Blanc was exactly as advertised on VRBO - clean, comfortable, well-equipped, and with a beautiful location and views. We had all adults enjoying Thanksgiving and everyone was comfortable, warm, and happy. The hot tub on the deck had beautiful views. When we contacted the owners regarding an issue with the hot tub top, we received a prompt response and a maintenance worker was there the next morning.
We rent from VRBO 3 times a year so we know how a vacation property SHOULD be prepared and operated.
We had extensive problems with the most of the appliances .The TV satellite service was disconnected, so there was no TV. The DVD player was broken, so DVD's. The outdoor propane grille was filthy with grease and the igniter was broken,so no outdoor cooking. The dishwasher stopped during every wash cycle so we had to wash all the dishes by hand.
All of these problems could have ben solved if the Owner would employ someone to check on the operational equipment of the residence before each rental. We definitely do NOT recommend this property , unless you're an appliance repairman.
We tried emptying our trash, but the outdoor bin was stuffed with the previous renter's trash. We had to wait 3-days for trash pick-up before we could take out any garbage.
We were afraid to sit on the deck because the southwest column is off the foundation and the timber guardrail and newel post is rotten and held together with plastic zip ties. This is another example of the lack of maintenance on this property.
We really enjoyed this home and would definitely consider it on a return for our family group or for my women's ski group. The 4 bedrooms coupled with the 4 bed sleeping loft made it very comfortable for a large group (assuming there are some heavy sleepers who can use the 4 loft beds as it is partially open - at the top of the stairs - to the great room below). The loft has the added attraction of a couple of sofas, big windows with mountain views, a TV and its own bathroom. There is a pack and play and safety gates for the stairwells if you have little ones.
I particularly liked the large table - and plenty of seating options - in the great room. So many places we have rented for a group of 10 or more have a table that only seats 6-8. That has never made sense to me in a 5 bedroom house, but it has been our experience. So having a table big enough for all of us to have dinner together is one of my criteria when I look for a place. It is also nice to have something that can be used for games.
The view from the house is spectacular and the night sky is mesmerizing - particularly so from the hot tub.. There is no yard to speak of, but the deck is big and allows some outdoor time while at the house. There is a gate at the top of the deck stairs to help keep the little ones in check. The house is generally well stocked with cooking and baking options - there was even a note on the refrigerator that addressed high altitude baking changes!
The house is well located for all attractions in Estes. The driveway is quite steep, so not a good place for a camper or trailer but easy to turn cars around to head out driving instead of backing. We had the added pleasure of 2 deer ambling down the driveway and around the house on the morning of our departure.
Overall I found this to be a most satisfying and comfortable place to stay while exploring Estes and Rocky Mountain National Park.
Views...Views.....Views!!!! We celebrated our daughter's 16th birthday at Monte Blanc Chalet. I cannot tell you how absolutely wonderful this home is, and our stay was. The home is meticulously maintaned and appointed. The owner was wonderful to work with. Everything was just as advertised. We will definitely be coming back for another stay! Thank you!
From the top loft with full bath and the built in bunk beds that are not just twin beds but full size beds, to the bottom level with three nice bedrooms and full bath with amazing shower. This place was perfect for our group. We had three couples and three kids 6yrs and under. The easy to use child gates were great for the wood stairs to keep our 14 month safe. The open floor plan from kitchen to dinning and great room we could all hang out in one place and chat. We have stayed in cabins and townhomes before in Estes but, this place knocked it out of the park. The amazing views from the deck and all the large windows WOW! ! We are trying to set up a date for next year to be back. We have rented rental vacation homes before but never with this much ease. The owner communicated well and we never had a worry or question she didn't solve.
