We've just undergone a $10,000 Make over..: For the golfers, you have a jewel of a course right on your doorstep. Southern Dunes is widely acclaimed in many US golfing journals and offers players of all abilities the chance to play one of the most challenging and beautiful courses in Central Florida. Off the back tee’s it is over 7200 yards long but there are five sets of tees to accommodate golfers of varying abilities. It features significant elevation change which is unusual for this part of the world and it is always beautifully maintained. There is a well stocked pro shop and impressive clubhouse and bar. What is more there are also a great many other great courses within a 20 minute drive of Southern Dunes. A golfers paradise. The award winning Southern Dunes Golf Course and Country Club is located on the Hwy 27, with easy access to Orlando Inter. airport which is 30 minutes drive. Right outside the main gates, just a stroll away, you will find the 24-hour Walmart, fast food chains, restaurants, sports bars, & banking.

Disney is just a 20 minute drive, as are most of the major theme's. Downtown Disney is great if you fancy some lively night life. International drive with all of its attractions and shopping malls is about 20 minutes away. Winter Haven a favourite small town with its lakes, water sports, shopping and restaurants (no long queues waiting for tables) is nearby. A day on the beautiful beaches of the Gulf Coast are about an hour away. Our fully air conditioned villa is well appointed and offers all the amenities of home, including linens and towels, which is sure to make your vacation perfect for the entire family.

We stayed here for a week with 3 couples and two kids ages 2 & 4. Weather (Jan) wasn't great, so we didn't get to enjoy the pool as much as we'd have liked. Pool is great though, with cover to keep it warm and lights to swim at night. "hot tub" wasn't really hot and there weren't any controls...it was either full blast jets or none.
Almost all the beds were comfortable, but the double bed made a bizarre amount of squeaking from the boxspring. Also, the home is furnished with 2 glass top dining tables and a glass top coffee table, which we quickly removed to the garage for safety with two small kids. Gameroom in garage was great to have, pool table was a little "tippy" but fine for amateur players. Southern Dunes is a great gated community that was super-convenient to Haines City shopping. We went to Cypress Gardens twice (fabulous for small kids) and Disney. Took about 30-40 min to get to Orlando, less than that to get to Cypress Gardens. Went to Tampa too, easy route only an hour away. So great central location if you want to do more than just Orlando attractions. fully equipped kitchen, grill. We had a faucet break while we were there and the property management company had someone there within an hour of calling. Would definitely stay there again, just hope that the glass top tables get replaced.
