What makes Trimble Creek Lodge Unique? We, Michael & Lorilee (Lulu), are your Innkeepers during your stay at Trimble Creek Lodge, a resort with the privacy of a Vacation Home, the extras of a Country Inn and the adventure of a 72-acre Lakeside Peninsula. We offer one-of-a-kind vacations for families, reunions and groups of 6-15 in a unique set-up that includes: A spacious Lodge for gathering, three unique and charming, fully equipped cottages with many extras, plus private boat & swim dock, bunkhouse & treehouse.
We personalize for each of our groups. Homemade ice cream, double chocolate brownies, advice for fisherman and help celebrating a special occasion, birthday or anniversary are some of our unique offerings. Spend time together in the Lodge, on the dock or at one of the many porches throughout our resort. Then, spread out for sleeping in our 3 stand-alone cottages plus the bunkhouse. There are porches and patios around the Lodge & East Cottage and a great covered back porch at the Meadow House. We have gas and charcoal grills and provide most everything you need in our well equipped kitchens (waffle irons, crock pots, good knives, rolling pins, great pots, plenty of dishes although due to our wilderness setting, we do not have dishwashers), bathrooms and bedrooms (fluffy towels, high quality sheets we iron by hand for you, beautiful quilts, fresh flowers and American & English soaps). Bring your food and friends and you are set!
Bull Shoals has 1,000 acres of shoreline and the water is beautifully clean. Guest’s love swimming off our swim dock and enjoying the seclusion of our beautiful natural location. This lake is so large, you can boat or water ski without getting close to other boats – one of the reasons families love this place.
Every vacation here includes at least one free family style food gift from our Trimble Creek Lodge favorites including our own hand churned ice cream, double chocolate brownies or fabulous crusty fresh baked rolls. Complementary cooking lessons with Lulu are part of the charm of this unique place.

Dear Families and Friends,
We are honored by the many wonderful families who in the last 12 years have chosen Trimble Creek Lodge for their vacations or getaways. Over the years we created many memories during our family vacations with our children and extended family and friends. We hope you will do the same during your time here with us in Arkansas, the Natural State. We are fortunate our kids still return “to the Lake.” In fact, our son still takes his summer vacation here, traveling from Japan and then Korea to Trimble Creek Lodge. (The picture of us is actually from his recent wedding in Tokyo!) As a family, we treasure the things that were most different from our daily lives – long (and competitive) card games, lazy afternoons on the lake, learning new ways to have fun in the water – tubing, skiing, wakeboarding, fishing and making up games of our own!
Here at Trimble Creek Lodge we hope you enjoy leaving your normal lives behind and experiencing life in our unique, natural setting where summer days are distinctive, simple and relaxed. Enjoy fixing (and eating) family breakfasts or dinners when no one is rushed to get to work, soccer or school. Have the kids do the dishes (there are no dishwashers here except the natural kind - your kids!) Take the time to enjoy a quiet morning outdoors listening to the birds. Have a family story/discussion night and hear everyone’s stories – Grandpa as well as young ones (Michael & Lorilee have a basket of story-starting questions). Please let us know any questions about Trimble Creek Lodge. Our hope is that your family and friends will build your own memories and vacation traditions here in one of the most pristine, natural environments you will find in all of the US.
Michael & Lorilee (Lulu) purchased this house in 2002
We vacationed on Bull Shoals for years with our kids and realized there were no places quite like Trimble Creek Lodge - distinctive, yet simple and relaxed. Below is a list compiled by our guests of their favorite experiences here at Trimble Creek Lodge. Previous guests, please send us your favorites to add!
Eat, sleep, ski, fish!
Memorial Day – Mid September: Tube, Water-ski or wakeboard on the lake where the water is beautiful and clean.
Game night in the Lodge – we have Cards, Poker chips, Apples to Apples, Guesstures, Scrabble, Monopoly, Dominoes, Jenga, Pool table (adults), Foosball (outdoor porch), Pictionary, Yahtzee, Uno and more - or bring your favorite games!
Walk - Forget the treadmill while you’re here, we have 72 acres for outdoor walking! (Remember the insect repellent and shoes for walking on rocky surfaces.)
Walk to the dock – 6 minutes down, 10 minutes up a rocky Arkansas lane – about ¼ mile.
Walk from the Meadow House to the Lodge, Lodge to Meadow House (1/4 mile), enjoy the views and scenery along the way.
Or bring your bikes for riding between the Meadow House and Lodge (the hills surrounding the Lodge are rocky and a bit steep for biking although we have had some mountain bike enthusiast who disagree!)
Swim (Memorial Day – Mid September) or relax off the dock – we have both sun and shade for swimmers and relaxers.
Boat on the Lake – 1,000 miles of shoreline on the 10th largest lake in the US. Pack a picnic, find a nice cove, jump into the lake for a swim, play water volley ball or keep away. Nap or read in the boat. Enjoy this beautiful, clean and uncrowded lake. There are boat rentals nearby at the Buck Creek and 125 Marinas.
If you are here over July 4, consider watching fireworks over the lake from a boat! Pack your family into boats and enjoy a mosquito-free fireworks display from the lake. Typically fireworks take place a few days before the 4th and also on the 4th at several locations on the lake (Buck Creek Marina (nearby), Sugarloaf Harbor (8 miles) and Bull Shoals Boat Dock (35 miles – we use our GPS on the way home in the dark!). Schedules for these are usually available in June.
Thank you for the wonderful honeymoon! Everything was perfect. Can’t wait to come back with the kids!
Being a traveler and used to the amenities of big hotels in major cities, beautiful resorts and vacation homes, I was very surprised to find a gem - Trimble Creek Lodge - in the heart of the Ozarks. From the moment, my brother and I stepped out of the car to our final day at this resort, we were impressed by the level of personalized service by the proprietors, Lorilee and Mike. They were not only warm, hospitable and friendly hosts, but very informative and highly knowledgeable about the area. They lent a special touch to everything – from the welcome sign that greeted us as we entered the lodge, to the bouquet of fresh flowers delivered to the rooms daily. The cabins were very CLEAN, cozy and charming; the décor added to the feeling of a real home.
Upon arrival, and after being led to our quarters, my first impulse was to lay in bed and sleep because I was tired from driving. But the scenery beckoned. The large windows in the lodge offered a view of Bull Shoals Lake that was irresistible and breathtaking. One could read, play a game of pool or backgammon or simply sit, relax and enjoy nature. The gravel paths that meandered around the property offered many surprises – a vegetable garden, a tree house, a homey barn, a small grove of chestnut trees, beautiful rocks from the “Natural State” and breathtaking views of the lake and its creeks.
We sampled Lorilee’s delicious home-made bread, which was freshly baked, but disappointingly, we did not have the time to take the lesson in bread making due to the lack of time.
Trimble Creek offered a lot of privacy and a welcome relief from the stresses of city living.
I highly recommend this beautiful resort and will definitely return and hope to stay longer!
Staying here was certainly one of the most relaxing vacations I have ever had. Being able to spend a whole week with my family was wonderful. We were there for a family reunion (15 of us) and you could be with people as much as you wanted or you could go to your cottage and have some quiet time. The Lodge is beautiful and the two innkeepers were wonderful in making sure everything was o.k.
We also rented a boat a couple days and everyone enjoyed that. There were water sports that the younger ones enjoyed and those who did not participate enjoyed watching. There again, if you did not want to go to the lake, it was wonderful just relaxing in the Lodge.
After we were home a couple weeks, my granddaughters (ages 11 and 13) spent a few days with us before school started. I asked them if they enjoyed our vacation. I got a very enthusiastic "YES". I asked what they liked the most and they said "EVERYTHING"! Not every vacation would get those answers from kids that age.
I would highly recommend this location for a place to stay whether it be a family reunion, a getaway or whatever the occasion.
Our family of 9 individuals, from 3 years to 80 years of age, travel all over the country. From Cape Cod, MA to San Diego, CA... And when all 9 individuals say they were 100% satisfied with Trimble Creek Lodge, this review should resonate will all that are contemplating on traveling to this particular location.
From the moment we drove down the old dirt road to gain access to the 70+ acre property... We all were a bit worried with what we would find at the end of the road. However, the moment we entered the Trimble Creek Lodge property that all changed as we were greeted with beautifully groomed & spacious land... Immediately, we could tell the owners took great pride in keeping the land in excellent condition. There also was the spectacular views of the lake (absolutely breathtaking)! As we followed the gravel road to the lodge, where we would eventually would check-in, we noticed the adorable Meadow House, the Barn, the Bunk House, and then the main house with attached lodge… All within walking distance!!! My 80 year old grandparents were ecstatic that the houses were all in close proximity to one another, as they were able to walk back and forth from the Meadow House to the Lodge each day.
We were given a short tour of the property and the houses we would be staying. Each house presented its own unique charm and character. The main house / lodge was the gathering point for our family each day/night, as this location offers the best views and also is the designated entertainment area. The Meadow House is at the opposite end of the property, where the grandparents stayed. This particular house offered complete tranquility and rest to those that stayed. The Barn House was another gem of the property! It has been converted to an apartment style living area, and offers a gorgeous bathroom!
I could go on…and on about the lodging facilities at Trimble Creek Lodge… But I believe it’s equally important to note the extraordinary hospitality that was given to use by the owners. They went out of their way to make sure our every need was catered too…and I found that this type of treatment is a rarity, and we all felt a little spoiled as a result of how well we were taken care of. We already miss the wonderful smells of lavender on all the towels and bed linens… and the owners teaching us all how to make old-school ice cream (homemade ice cream)… and the owners baking us fresh homemade batch of bread for dinner! Thank you Lulu & Michael for a wonderful time!
For 10 + years, Our group of 10 has utilized VRBO for summer vacation accommodations. This lodge stands out from the many (very nice) rentals we have utilized. The Lodge is set atop a hill overlooking a cove on Bull Shoals Lake. Bull Shoals remains as unspoiled and pristine as it was 30+ years ago during summers there with our grandparents. The pictures of this lodge offer only a basic overview of the beauty of the surroundings and accommodations. The lodge itself consists of 3 cottages and a bunkhouse. Our family utilized the east cottage, the meadow house and the barn. Every cottage was immaculately clean. Spa quality towels, soaps and toiletries were provided. Even so, the lodge has a comfortable, easy atmosphere. Every detail is anticipated. We planned and cooked special meals every night. The East Cottage kitchen was extremely well equipped, and did not lack for any amenity. The two refrigerators were ideal to store everything we needed to dine in for our meals. The lodge offers ample dining space around large tables. After dinner, we enjoyed the sunset and reclined on the porch to gaze at the night sky. The grounds around all the cabins are lovely and carefully maintained. Cable and string lighting adds an ambience that is both delightful and relaxing. Like the rest of the property, the dock is very clean and an ideal place to spend the afternoon swimming, fishing or paddle boating/row boating.
The hospitality at this Lodge is likewise, exceptional. Owners Lulu and Michael are helpful and gracious. From churning homemade ice cream to advice regarding activities, they are always available to assist. They live on site and provide services to guests, but do so with impeccable timing that is neither "too much" nor "too little". Guests enjoy privacy and intimate family gatherings without foregoing the luxury of careful hospitality. Lulu and Michael are both intelligent and kind. They were at ease with every member of our group, which ranged in age from 13 to 77. All of us, including our 4 teens, want to come back next year!
An additional note --- the rural setting and ample acreage surrounding the Lodge is a great plus. Between board games, foosball, swimming and fishing, one need not leave to enjoy the day. However, it is not hard to venture out. Branson, river fishing, boating, canoeing and tubing are all within an easy (and picturesque) 15-45 minute drive from the lodge.
We are most grateful for our time at Trimble Creek!
Our family just returned from our 6th straight year at Trimble Creek. This is our favorite week of the year!
The facilities are amazing and the hosts have become a part of our family. We love the privacy and the luxury resort type feel. There is plenty of room to spread out and relax as well as ample area to hang out as a family. Bull Shoals Lake is a hidden gem. We were there right after the 4th of July and it was rare to see 5 other boats on the lake. This is the perfect place to take 10+ family members for an extremely memorable vacation. You will not regret it.
We have already requested dates for 2015. This will be our go to destination for many years to come.
My extended family spent an incredible late fall weekend at this beautiful combination of an inn and vacation rental. The property itself is remote and beautiful. The on site owners literally devote themselves to providing for the guests' comfort and entertainment. A separate residence for part of the family is ideal for adult children and their spouses. The owner gave us a lesson in bread making as well as making delicious rolls and desserts for our Thanksgiving meal. Fine linens, new kitchen gadgets, board games, a sound system with iPod connector - all examples of the things that make your stay here one delight after another!
Summer reunions & groups reserve the entire resort. Trimble Creek Lodge is a cross between a Resort, a Vacation Home and a Country Inn, located on a lovely 72 acre peninsula of Bull Shoals Lake in a secluded, wilderness location. You will find plenty of extras like great beds, fresh flowers, ironed sheets and home-made desserts but you can cook for yourselves in our well equipped kitchens. One reason our place is great for reunions is our Lodge Common Space – an airy room with cathedral ceilings and plank oak floors overlooking the lake where you can gather day or night for games, conversations, or meals. This is a great lake for fishing, boating, waterskiing, tubing and other family water fun. The mile-long cove where our private dock is situated is not crowded and perfect for family water sports - you can always find a secluded cove to teach your kids to ski. New in 2015 is a 9 hole Disc Golf Course on Trimble Creek Lodge Property for our guests only! Within an hour’s drive find Golf courses, Silver Dollar City, Branson, MO, White & Buffalo Rivers. Visit the town of Eureka Springs (1.5 hours) for upscale shopping and fabulous Victorian architecture. The Crystal Bridges Museum in Bentonville offers first-class American art in a fabulous natural setting just 90 miles from Trimble Creek Lodge.
