A unique retreat, this 2-bedroom, 2-bath flat is in The Sundowner, the only four-plex on Harbor Island--Located on prestigious Mickey's Alley, only a block from the Beach and Racquet Club and just steps from a walkway to two miles of unspoiled beach. You’ll feel right at home in this spacious flat with a well appointed and comfortable interior. Family friendly,with an open floor plan, the living and dining areas open onto a 25 foot long deck with hammock, overlooking a protected bird rookery with views of the Harbor River & it's glowing sunsets. For your enjoyment, the living area includes a wet bar, large color television with cable, VCR and DVD players, and surround sound. Two comfortable sofas provide plenty of seating for family & friends! DVD player for the grownups in the master bedroom and VCR for the kids in bedroom #2. We happily accept your pet (dogs only-limit one; sorry no cats due to allergies) with pet fee. Emai us for availability!

Harbor Island is a gated beach community 14 miles south east of charming historic Beaufort SC. Harbor Island is quiet and low key, and offers 2.5 miles of natural beach, acres and acres of unspoiled tidal marsh, several bird sanctuary lagoons. Beaufort is about 25 minutes away and is a lovely town similar to Charleston or Savannah, but on a much smaller scale. Beaufort offers shops and restaurants along the waterfront park on the Intracoastal Waterway and nearby, tours of the historic district (both horse & buggy and walking tours) and boat tours are available from the downtown marina. If using a GPS or on-line mapping program, enter Saint Helena Island instead of Harbor Island....Harbor is considered to be a part of the larger township of Saint Helena Island.

Golf: There are several golf courses open to the public, within an easy 20-30 minute ride. We will be happy to provide a list of the courses and contact information.

  • The delightful master suite offers a dressing area with ample closet space as well as a private vanity and shower area. There is a separate tub in master and a tub-shower combination in the second bathroom adjacent to the guest bedroom.

  • The master bedroom suite opens onto two decks----on one side opening onto the large living/dining area deck, on the other opening onto a smaller private deck. There are chairs and lounge chairs provided for the private deck, and the large deck includes chairs, a dinette set and a hammock. Both decks overlook a protected bird sanctuary where egrets and herons are plentiful. The spacious living area includes a queen sized sleeper sofa, so you can comfortably accommodate six.

Reservations include full access to the Harbor Island Beach & Racquet Club, less than a block away, where you will enjoy an Olympic sized pool overlooking the marshes of the Harbor River, a kiddie pool, jungle gym, sand volleyball court, tennis courts, 1/2 court basketball court, fitness center (weight room and cardio workout room with treadmills, etc.), and a grassy fenced in recreation area. This villa provides 'starter supplies' only of toilet tissue, bath soap, paper towels, and dishwasher detergent. A wireless DSL connection is available in the villa. Just bring your wireless ready laptop! Kid friendly, this villa is also equipped with a Pack 'N Play. We welcome monthly rentals during the winter season.

We had a wonderful stay! The condo was very clean and comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked as was the entire condo - extra sheets, blankets, beach chairs. We felt right at home, and everyone was so friendly. Sunrises and sunsets were beautiful. The beach was just a short walk away, and we enjoyed the relaxing walks on the beach. Watching the birds from the deck was so much fun! We would definitely recommend your home to friends and hope to come back again!

Very nice condo, everthing was clean and the place was quite and relaxing and convenient to walk to the beach or pool.
Recommended for:  Girls Getaway, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
