Hilton Head is the biggest barrier island in the United States (5 by 12 miles). It has all beach fun and miles of bike paths all across the entire island. History buffs can explore civil war towns of Bueafort (30 minutes), Savannah (45 minutes) and Charleston (2 hours ) the island has been kept in pristene condition, it allows no big or neon signs and all stores are set off back from the roads.

True Getaway: Hilton Head Island is known for its conservation efforts over the years. The locals have refused over the years to allow any commercialism which hurts the environment- for example, some airlines wanted to bring more tourists here by bigger jets. This would have meant extending the airport runway. They voted against it because they would have to tear down hundreds of trees and also the noise factor. Hilton Head allows no neon signs or businesses connected to highway. All stores sit back so that all the natural beauty can be seen.

Family Friendly: Hilton Head has tons of stuff for kids and families. For example every night night at Shelter Cove Marina and Sea Pines Resort there are free outdoor concerts for families. The artists sing kids songs and invite all the kids to join on stage. Hilton Head is famous for miles and miles of bicycle paths. You can literally ride your bike all around the island. The paths are paved and about 8 to 10 feet wide. The path even goes under the main highway. There are many places to rent bikes--cost roughly $20 a week.

Southern Hospitality: In all the years I have gone to Hilton Head, I have always been treated well by the locals. They have been do friendly and welcoming. It makes your vacation so much better when everybody treats you with respect and warmth.

Both our stays at John's villa was excellent. It has everything you need. Very clean and decorated beachy perfect. The pool is very clean and the beach just a few minutes walk to the pathway. Being on the first floor is great for unloading your car. Lots to see and do. Tons of restaurants and places to shop. We're staying there again in November 09 over Thanksgiving. Can't wait.

My husband, children and I had a wonderful week visiting HHI and the villa was awesome! Perfect distant from the beach, the pool was terrific, and the villa was very clean and comfortable! We definitely hope to return!

We spent a wonderful relaxing week in this condo. The location and access to the beach are great! It was so nice not to have to bring chairs etc. for the beach since they are provided. This villa is indeed a home away from home. After a day of sun and sand , we could lounge at the nearby pool. I highly recommend this villa for a dream vacation to HHI.

FUN TRIP TO HHI

We have had many fun trips to Hilton Head Island, made even better by this condo. The unit is very clean and comfortable, artistically decorated with attractive furnishings and beautiful Pergo flooring. With easy access to the beach, restaurants, grocery stores, and shopping malls, the location makes vacationing convenient. Also, there were beach chairs available to us on the back deck. The kitchen is complete with stove, microwave, and refrigerator with icemaker, pots/pans, coffee maker, and linens. Like home only away from home!

We arrived on a Saturday to bright sunshine and warm temperatures. The gated community was immaculate and close to the Ocean and beach. The villa was beautiful, well furnished, comfortable, quiet and all appliances and furnishing were new and all was as advertised it felt like home! Just a short walk (villa had beach chairs and a cart to help haul the things) to the beach which was also litter free; miles and miles of pristine sand was uncrowded. Grocery stores were close and there are tons of resturants and places to eat - from national chains to locally owned. Easy to get around but one does need a car. We particuarly enjoyed a resturant called "Franky Bones" - the service was very good and the steaks are supurb. Would we go back - you bet we would. We highly reccommend it.
