Strasburg is known for pottery, antiques, civil war history and breathtaking views. It is nestled in the valley of the Shenandoah River with vistas of Massanutten Mountain and the Allegheny foothills. Strasburg offers numerous sources of entertainment, including Half Moon Beach, Crystal Caverns, Stonewall Jackson Museum, many antique shops, the historic Hotel Strasburg, The Strasburg Theatre, an impressive park and swimming pool complex, paintball, bowling, and access to the North Fork of the Shenandoah River. The area boasts many hiking trails (including Signal Knob trails), fishing, kayaking/tubing, Valley League baseball games, horseback riding, antique stores, roller skating, a drive-in movie, wineries, civil war battlefields, historic sites, and the occasional reenactment of a Civil War battle. Skyline Drive is accessible from nearby Front Royal. Several golf courses are nearby, and Bryce Canyon Ski Resort is in nearby Basye.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Payment accepted by cash, check, credit card, PayPal. Dogs welcome with a pet fee of $50 per stay.
  • A deposit of 50% is requested at the time of booking, with the remainder due one week before the reservation begins. Cancellations must be received by 12 noon on the 7th day prior to the first reservation day. National holiday weekends have a 3 night minimum stay.
  • Guests are requested to sign a simple rental agreement prior to commencing reservation. Check-in is 3pm, Check-out 11am, both times are flexible depending upon the cabin reservation schedule.

Child-Friendly Amenities: The cabin has been child-proofed with gates, outlet protectors and cupboard locks. Infant/toddler gear is located on the property, including a high chair, playpens (2), diaper pail, booster seat, twin bed rails, and some toddler toys.

About the Water: The cabin uses well water, so when you take a shower or use the kitchen sink, you may smell sulfur - the locals would call this a bonus, as they swear by the healthful properties of the water. There is a shower but no bathtub, and there is no washer/dryer, but linens and towels are provided and there is a laundromat in town.

Well-equipped cabin close to everything

Our small family and two dogs ($50 extra cleaning fee) have just spent a wonderful weekend at this cabin. It is very well-equipped, down to the linens and basic items in the fridge. The screened-in porch provides protection from the insect-life and a wonderful view of the river, which swims by lazily just 20 yards from the cabin. The location is great, only 10 minutes outside Strasburg VA but secluded enough to get away from it all. The loft (open) bedroom has a queen bed and a single, and then the small second bedroom has two small single beds. Would do for two couples with small kids. The bathroom is very nice but no bath - only a shower. All the amenities worked well and it was very comfortable. We would recommend highly to anybody who wanted a quiet weekend close to the Shenandoah River (Canoe; 2 Kayaks; Inflatable boats and rings provided........ get out there!) A great rental, easy to reach from DC and good value for the weekend. Thank you.

Shenandoah Serenity

Our entire family of 4 plus the 3 dogs had a wonderful time in this mountain cabin. We used the 2 kayaks, canoe and floats on the river for fishing and relaxing. We all agreed it ended too soon! The only flaw was the walk to the river needed to have some more steps added to make it more safe. Would stay there again in a flash. The place was clean and provided the linens too. We loved the 71/2 hour canoe/kayak trip down the river. Not to mention the great Skyland Drive and Luray Caverns.
