I wish we had checked the place out in person before renting it. We were disappointed. It had a beautiful view of the lake from the deck and the appliances were really nice, as was the direct tv (when it rained) but the cabin was not as described or depicted. It was not very clean at all, lots of spider webs, filthy blinds, sticky cabinets and the sheets were flannel. Sleeping on flannel sheets in the summer is not very comfortable at all. The rugs were very dirty and all of the bedding was very old.It seemed as if the bedding gets changed between visitors and maybe the vacuum is run but that's about it. There were items in cupboards left behind by others? The beach was very small due to high water but we realize that is not anyone's fault. But the lower deck, stairs to beach and entire beach/boat area were dirty, mildew covered and full of weeds and cobwebs. The shoreline was very weedy with debris in the water to step on. Mike was very nice and very generous but we will not be returning, unfortunately. If the cabin and lower deck/stairs areas were cleaned up, it could be a very nice vacation rental. The upper yard, deck and gas grill (also very dirty) were wonderful to enjoy.

I highly recommend requesting that the owner of this property to send current pictures of the house and the property. The pictures on the website do not represent the property 100%. The picture on the website shows a family playing on the beach, when in reality, the water line was right up to tall weeds.

The owner was nice though and offered the pontoon boat to us for a couple of days to compensate the lack of beach, but we were truly disappointed that our young children did not have a beach to play on like we planned. We wish we were warned about this ahead of time. We just don't like paying for one thing and getting something else in return.

What a great place to relax! My family had a wonderful time on Diamond Lake. Mike was great and got us whatever we needed! The cabin had everything that we needed and was great for the price. Our family of five had plenty of space. We loved getting sun in the afternoon on the deck and dinner there in the evening. The no wake on the lake hours was also nice. If you have a boat and like a quiet lake to tube, ski and/or fish this is the place. For the money we were very satisfied. Cabin could use some blinds, newer hide-a-bed and bedding. Appliances were newer and worked great. There were enough pans but could have used a griddle to make pancakes on. Gas grill worked fine but could have used a cleaning before we got there. There were dishes but we went the plastic route so we didn't have to wash them. There is golfing w/in 20-40 min. from the cabin. We didn't really look for any restuarants, there is gas and groceries in White Cloud. My only caution would be if you have trouble going up and down stairs. There are stairs down to the water and stairs up to where you park. Not a big deal for our family. Overall we had a great time and would definately come back again!
