The area is attractive as being walking distance from many South Bank attractions and City of London, and served well by transport links making the West End only a few stops away. Within walking distance are such major attractions as the South Bank, Borough Food Market, the Tate Modern, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, the Millennium Bridge to St Pauls Cathedral, the financial City of London, Tower Bridge. 5-10 minutes on the Jubilee Line will bring you to the West End, Buckingham Palace and St James Park/Green Park, the Ritz, Piccadilly, Soho etc.

The flat is modern and fully equipped; bedding and furniture is of a high standard.

1 and 5 minutes walk from Northern and Jubilee Lines at Borough High Street and London Bridge. Or you can use the Northern Line to Covent Garden in a few stops. In fact, London Bridge is closer to Soho than Soho is to South Kensington.

EXCELLENT FLAT FOR FAMILIES OR GROUPS OF UP TO 6

Although we only spent a few hours in the apartment we immediately had the feeling we had made the perfect choice for our short stay in London. The flat is in a very good location, a 1 min. walk from the Borough underground at children's pace. Besides, it has literally everything you might need for much longer periods, it is perfectly mantained and offers plenty of space for families with up to 4 children or small groups. The "reception"-lady, Yukiko, was also very kind, so: No doubt we will try to come back in case we need a place in London.

ACCURATE DESCRIPTION OF THE APT., HOWEVER.......

Our family (parents and 3 children ages 18, 20, and 23) rented this apt. for 6 nights in mid July. As stated in our rental agreement, we called upon landing in London and easily met to obtain the key and make payment. The apt. was just as the pictures presented it to be, very bright and comfortable. The Tube station is a short walk and convenient to everything---we reached most sightseeing destinations within 10-15 min. The building and apt. can only be accessed by a key---great security. The apt. is located on the 2nd floor and easily reached by an elevator when necessary. Additionally, the area surrounding the apt. felt very safe; we never were concerned with our safety. There are two small markets within 5-10 min. walk and Dominoes pizza even delivers to the building. The apt. had WiFi and satellite TV, great amenities. During our stay, the temperatures were quite hot, so we would need to sleep with the windows and patio doors open. Because of this, bright grounds lighting shone directly into the apartment and it was extremely noisy due to a hostel (with connecting bar) located at the end of the block. Many nights people were partying until well after midnight. Because no fans were provided with the apt., opening windows was the only option for trying to stay somewhat cool for sleeping. Additionally, we contacted the apt. management after the first day because the shower in the second bathroom would not drain properly; you had to turn the water off and on to keep the shower from overflowing. They were very prompt in responding to this problem; however, the drain did not improve and there was no follow up by the mgmt. company.

Owner's Response: Within 5 minutes walk is London Bridge tube entrance. On the way is Sainsbury Local and Tesco Metro is within 2 minutes walk. There is an air conditioner unit in the apartment, which works best with the windows closed, and these are double glazed. There is one pub nearby but the road is a cul de sac, so no through traffic: noise would be occasional only. Summer parties are however a risk in any residential estate. The drain was treated (apartment has two showers) and seemed OK when done. We do not live on site so would need guest feedback to further 'follow up' something that appeared to be OK.

IDEAL LOCATION. EXCELLENT LOCAL AMENITIES

Ideal property as a base for sightseeing not far from a mainline and Underground station. A number of tourist 'places to visit' within walking distance. Several local restaurants & pubs and a grocery shop over the road.

Apartment would appear to be recently refurbished to a high standard. Property Manager very friendly and amenable.

Not suitable for people with walking difficulties as it is on the 2nd floor but was perfect for us (2 adults and 2 boys aged 17 & 16).

IT WAS TRUELY MY HOME AWAY FROM HOME.

My friends and I stayed in this lovely flat in May 2008. The owner was very friendly and helpful. All descriptions are completely accurate. We were met and given helpful information on the flat and surrounding areas. The property was clean and well-maintained. This was a great location for us to just hop on the tube to easily get to our sight seeing for the day. If I visit london again I will make every attempt possible to stay here again. I would recommend this flat to anyone.

A great place to start a walk and a very 'strategic' location to base a holiday.... Nearby landmarks all along the South Bank include the Borough Food Market, Southwark Cathedral, the Tate Modern Gallery of Modern Art, the Shakespeare Globe Theatre, the Millennium Bridge, linking to St Pauls Cathedral. The area doesn't have many clothing shops and department stores, but London Bridge Jubilee Line has a direct link to Bond St etc.

Other Activities: Two gyms are nearby, one has daily membership, the other has monthly membership and pool.
