My family stayed in this rental for 5 nights and 4 days for my daughter's wedding in Wilmington. We had an amazing time in Wrightsville Beach and this apartment could not have been more perfect and the location is just a short drive from Wilmington. There were 9 adults and we had more than enough room. The location is fantastic....great view of the ocean from the upstairs living room and front porch and a surprisingly pleasant view from the little stairway porch off the side. We easily walked to restaurants and shops and the grocery store was a great help and had everything we needed.
The apartment looks exactly as the photos show, but they can't do justice to the pleasant, quiet and restful atmosphere. It was spotlessly clean, well kept and well stocked with cooking supplies. We loved how even all the lamps had bulbs that worked.
Over the course of time before we arrived I emailed the owner and always got a prompt and helpful response and the caretakers on the 2nd floor were friendly and helpful when we needed them...which was only for a question or two.
On Saturday we had a gathering for more family and friends that had come in for the wedding but stayed other places. We cooked burgers on the grill and even with the addition of 6 more people, we had plenty of space.
The one bathroom is a drawback, but not enough to let this rental slip by you. My sister and her husband rented the downstairs efficiency apt. and that was very helpful as it really gave us a second bathroom, especially helpful when the whole house was getting ready for the wedding.
No linens is another drawback, especially for those of us flying, but we managed and could have rented linens. We saved money, however by supplying our own. Even if you rent linens, you still have to remember there is only one washer and dryer on the ground and it is coin operated. The night we needed to launder clothes another renter was using the machine and was very slow removing his/her items. We had to check back several times and finally transferred his/her clean clothes to a basket so we could wash. With wet suits, clothes and towels more washers and dryers would be a great help!
King Neptune's Restaurant at the end of the street was a nice meal and the frozen custard on the next street corner was delicious.
Parking is tight and any visitors you have will have to search out parking, but its do-able.
I would highly recommend this apartment rental for a family vacation.
