Thank you Mary & John for allowing us to share your beautiful cottage. We enjoyed several days with family just relaxing and enjoying the gorgeous view from your cottage. We look forward to another visit soon. Thanks again
This was our first stay at this property,it was so peaceful ,the grounds are beautiful. The house was great. My husband liked it so well, he was the first to talk about coming back for a week. You are close to the beach attractions but away from the noise. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Never having been to South Carolina, we had no idea what to expect of the scenery or the cottage that we had rented for the week. As soon as we passed the security guard at the front, we were greeted by perfectly manicured lawns, huge, twisting oaks covered with ivy and Spanish moss, charming duplexes with picket fences, purple hydrangeas, and squirrels chasing each other across the tree limbs. It was exactly what we needed: the opposite of loud hotels with screaming kids and drunk college students. This was where we belonged.
I was not keen on sharing a duplex with a stranger, but we hardly noticed they were there (just one night of a few banging screen doors). Not being right on the beach meant no sand on the floor or the sheets or the tub, and that was good. The pool was large and vacant, and we enjoyed one evening swimming in it under the stars.
There was a kitchen, but we dined out for our meals, so we did not use it. Bathrooms were good-sized, and the unit was nice and cool upon our arrival. It was just the perfect size for a couple and our son. I also always enjoy the feel of carpet instead of hard floors, and I imagine it was less noisy for neighbors as well. If we had only judged Myrtle Beach by the coastline, we never would have known how beautiful these grounds were--pine mixed with palm tree, every detail covered. If you are the kind of people who like peace, not the bawdy rowdy kind who like to draw attention to yourselves--do yourself a favor and enjoy this cottage.
Clean, spacious cottage surrounded by a gorgeous golf course and oak trees. Very quiet-in fact so quiet you'll find it hard to get out of bed in the morning. Nice back porch to relax on in between the short trips to the beach and to Murrells Inlet. We'll be back soon!
Serenity is the perfect name for this cottage. The area is very beautiful and its a nice quiet place to relax. We really enjoyed how clean the inside was and the room we had. We appreciated all the amenities provided. I also really liked walking in the mornings and evenings outside around the property. The trees with the hanging moss were so pretty. Mary was so easy to work with on booking her property. She really worked with me on everything we requested. I have already recommended this property to my mom and dad. The Marshwalk is only a mile away from this cottage and is a great place to go spend the day or evening. Thanks again Mary for everything. You have a lovely place and we appreciate you sharing it with us!
My husband, myself, and our 2 children (ages 3 and 7) had a wonderful stay at this cottage. The cottage was spacious, clean, and had all of the amenities as home. Mary was wonderful to work with and we didn't have any problems checking in or out. The community was very quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed nightly swims in the community pool and practically had the pool to ourselves. I loved the gated entry way and the feeling of safety in the community. The location is superb. We fell in love with Huntington State Park and the Murrels Inlet Marsh Walk. In fact, my 7 year old wants to retire here!! Thanks for letting us use your home. We loved every minute of it.
First of all, I don't normally do reviews. This cottage setting was too nice to not give the owners credit for their efforts. The cottage was just as the pictures show. Everything was in its place, clean, and fresh. The guard at the gate was friendly and had our keys and paperwork when we pulled up. We drove through the most beautiful setting of old trees that had Spanish moss that touched the ground. We had 2 parking spots in front of the cottage. We walked in and loved it right away. The owners thought of everything. There was a little container in the kitchen with some essentials (spare toothbrush, popcorn, chocolate candy bar). There were even some vcr and dvd movies that you could watch. The bathrooms were stocked with toiletries (tissue, soap, shampoo). The beds and chairs were comfortable, the wireless internet was fast, and there were ceiling fans everywhere, even on the back porch. We enjoyed eating breakfast on that back porch since there was a great table and chairs out there. The golf course looked immaculate and the 18th green and fairway were just a few yards away. Walking around the plantation development was easy and beautiful. The cottage is pet friendly and our little dog enjoyed the vacation as much as we did. The pool and clubhouse were a short walk from the cottage. A short drive by car and we were at the Huntington Beach. We were only 20 minutes by car from all the activities that we wanted at Myrtle Beach. There are some great restaurants in Murrells Inlet, not far from the cottage. The cottage was very welcoming and comfortable. Our visit went way too fast.
