About Gulf Blue Vacations

Yes, that is me in the picture to the left with my catch of Red Snapper. A number of years ago, my employer offered me an opportunity to relocate to the Pensacola area from the Northeast. I always dreamed of living on a beach and this offered me that opportunity. Never did I realize what a special place Pensacola Beach is. From the whitest sand of any beach in the world,to dolphins jumping up from the Gulf in joy; Pensacola is a unique place. This is my opportunity to share with you a piece of that dream.

I originally bought this condo as my home when my employer offered me a position in the area. I chose Tristan Towers because it is perfectly located. It is on the western end of Santa Rosa Island, just far enough away from the more densely tourist area but only minutes away from the hub of restaurants and night-life. You can truly appreciate the beauty of the Gulf from this section of the island. I love the place so much I could not part with it; even after my work required me to relocate once again. I have found the vast majority of my guests to be respectful of the condo and they treat it as their own vacation home. I am appreciative of the many conversations I have had with my guests and the friendships I have developed.

Relaxation, this condo is located in an area that offers the solitude that only nature can bring. Stroll along the beach, enjoy the Olympic size pool or the beautifull tennis facilities. This condo has views of both, the Gulf & Sound. Relax at Tristan's private soundside beach area or enjoy a sunset from our pier. At the same time, the area has numerous activities from jet sking to sky diving, great golf courses and the best fishing in the Gulf region. I particularly enjoy booking a charter boat to fish for Red Snapper. Local restaurants offer great Gulf Seafood and Peg Legs serve the best baked oysters in the universe. The Naval Air Museum is a must see visit and the Blue Angels air shows are awesome.

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I STAYED HERE BEFORE AND THERE ARE MANY REASONS WE CAME BACK!!!
1. Beautiful breath taking views!
2. Across the street from the whitest and most beautiful beach in Florida. So close to where you can not only watch but hear the surf come in and out! It is so relaxing just to sit on the spacious balcony and observe nature at its best! You can see the Gulf of Mexico from the front balcony and the sailboats on Pensacola Bay from the side balcony! It also overlooks the Olympic size pool with many recliners for sun bathing.
3. We could not find a more spacious three bedroom two bath unit for the price!!! The kitchen and dining room are great not to mention the large glassed in living room.
4. Tristan Towers is a very secure gated and well kept property.
5. We were in walking distance to some of the best restaurants on Pensacola Beach.
6. Because of the elevators we were able to bring our grandmother and she called it a piece of heaven.
7. No doubt we will come back. This unit is like new and very clean. We are very proud to bring our relatives and friends here!!!!!!!!!!!

Paradise !

Our month long couldn't have been any nicer . We were greeted to beautiful water views almost every morning ,great location , far enough away from the hustle & bustle of the strip , but close enough to enjoy a short drive to great shopping & restaurants . The condo was very clean,roomy, well appointed & comfortable , as were the grounds & pool .
Tony,thank you for all the personal attention you gave us --every suggestion for places of interest & dining were right on the money . We can truly say we enjoyed every minute of our stay .I would highly recommend this condo to everyone & have every intention of trying to make this my future vacation destination every opportunity I can get .

We Loved This Place

We loved this condo, the view, balcony and amenities were more than we could ask. We were pleasantly surprised. The views of the sunrise were spectacular and having morning coffee on the balcony was a pleasure. It is very well located and it is a very well maintained condo. The pool and tennis courts were a nice addition to the beach. Only a short walk to a great restaurant named Peg Legs. We will definitely come back and we will recommend this place to our friends. Thank you for a great vacation week.

Great stay for the price!

I can't believe we stayed in a 3 bedroom condo for the price we paid. Spacious, wraparound balcony, and easy walk across the street to the beach. It was nice to check in with an actual rental company for keys, so no worries about accessing a scary lock box at night. The views of the beach and Gulf, and the bay on the north side were wonderful. Only suggestion I have for the owner....no one knows how to operate the darn blinds, so maybe think about replacing with drapes with a pull rod. Thanks for a great vacation. And summer-like weather! We'll be back.

Nice condo with a great view.

My wife and I stayed at this condo and really enjoyed it. It was very clean and nicely furnished, has Wi-Fi and has a great view of the ocean and bay from the wrap around balcony. The location was great and convenient to many excellent restaurants. I recommend this condo for anyone looking to stay at Pensacola Beach.

Mid Summer Vacation

I would like to review this property based on pros and cons as it had both. It was definitely cheaper than a lot of other condos around but it was also across the street from the beach which I was aware of and okay with.

Pros: The property and grounds were fabulous. Staff that worked around the building were friendly and helpful. The pool was wonderful and the elevators were great. The condo was laid out well and the air con worked really well.

Cons: The inside of the condo was not only outdated but often times uncomfortable. The outdated decor did not bother me but the mattresses and bedding were in severe need of updating. The sheets and bedspreads were very low quality and the mattresses were very old. The sliding shower doors often got stuck and need to be replaced. The water pressure in the middle bathroom sink was outrageous as it shot water out violently at you and was hard to control. The sliding door in the master bedroom did not lock which was a problem with two small children. There was also a roach that was found in the middle bedroom.

I think I have rated this fairly considering the issues we had. These were not really things that we could call maintenance about as they were larger scale fixes. We had a good time on our stay but the lack of comfortable bedding and a few key amenities definitely caused some frustration for our family. I would only recommend this property to a friend if they were on a strict budget and needed the space but not the comfort. Although this condo was priced better than many others, I still think that it was overpriced for what we received on the inside of the unit. I know that the owner is trying to sell the unit from the sign that is in the kitchen but I still think that there should be necessary modifications and updates made.

Also, as a side note, there is a large master bedroom closet in the unit that is locked. I believe that this should be disclosed when renting. We were planning on my youngest sleeping in a pack and play in that large closet. When we arrived we had to make other arrangements due to the fact that it was locked with no key.

Overall, if updates were made to the inside of the unit this condo would be WONDERFUL!

Owner's Response: I would like to address your feedback. The unit itself is clearly and accurately depicted in the numerous recent photos I post on VRBO, anyone can clearly see it is not an "updated" unit (kitchen and baths have not been newly renovated but are in very good condition) and the pictures show it's across the street from the Gulf. It is priced accordingly so if you felt you wanted a unit that was "updated" or on the Gulf you should have not booked it in the first place. All the living room furniture, lamps etc..were less than 6 months old when you occupied the unit and is a Cindy Crawford designed coordinated set of high quality. The refrig, microwave, dishwasher, washer and dryer, flatscreen TVs, are all less than 3 years old. The master bedroom has a newer TempurPedic topper which you may not be accustomed to and the Queen size bed also has a newer mattress. I recently was in the unit and experienced no issue with water pressure or shower sliding doors, they function correctly (you certainly do not describe them accurately). I will check the lock on the Master Bedroom sliding door. As far as the insect you found, there is a pest control company that services the unit and entire building every 3 months, the beach is a high insect area and having large sliding doors it would not be unusual to get an insect. As is customary, most unit owners utilize an "owners closet" which is typically locked. The notion that you would use it as a sleeping area for a small child or play area would not be acceptable by any standards and that is certainly questionable judgement on your part regarding child safety issues. I am glad it was locked. I take much pride and time in my condo rental and address all issues. It is well maintained by a professional cleaning staff, and mgt.company and I periodically inspect and maintain the unit personally. It is clean and neat and I have had no major complaints. I retain a very reputable mgt. service who takes care of all my guests needs while they are there; including bedding, maintenance issues, etc..you could have addressed these issues with them or requested a change in unit. I would have gladly obliged. I regularly replace sheets and bedding per mgt and cleaning service recommendations. The quality of which is standard issue for rentals. I see you did stay the entire week with no major issues brought to management's attention who would inform me. I recommend Portofino or Margaritaville for your next visit.
