Guadalajara Vacation Rental house

Being above the city, the air is clean and views are beautiful at a nearby overlook. A rental car or taxi is a necessity. Using public transportation takes forever to get anywhere. Shuttle (with very limited hours) to shopping center and bus at the bottom of the mountain is not free as we were told, but once you get to the bottom of the mountain, public buses are very cheap and frequent. Computers with internet service at the shopping center are very reasonable. The fitness club did not offer short term memberships. House is very charming and well stocked. One bedroom is very large and the other is very small. Neighborhood is very nice and safe. There were a few late nights, however, when parties at neighbors' homes were very noisy. There were maintenance problems but owner left telephone number of maintenance man who was very responsive. Backup of shower because of construction reoccurred however, and we didn't feel comfortable using the microwave because of an electrical odor when we did. Owner held back $50 of security deposit without explanation. When asked the owner reminded us that she picked us up from the airport (when we had not asked her to do that). Then she promised to send a check for the balance of the security deposit but didn't follow through. Guadalajara is a wonderful base for touring a very historic and fascinating area of Mexico and restaurants are superb, but I wouldn't stay in Bugambilias again for sightseeing, only for relaxing and the weather.
