Great Choice in San MIguel

My friend and I have just returned from staying in Casa Trebol. We found the home to be perfect for us. The bedrooms were clean, one had a king bed, the other two doubles. My king bed was a little hard, but it wasn't a problem. We loved the housekeeper, Marianna. She went shopping for us on the first day and got everything we needed for all breakfasts and two or three dinners. She cooked great enchiladas, chicken, rice, beans and guacamole. We both speak Spanish, so we had no problem communicating with her. But even if you don't, I think she would get the idea of what you wanted.
We loved going up on the rooftop terrace to enjoy the gorgeous view of the main church of San Miguel and other monuments as they were lit up for the night.
The TV had all the stations we needed, both in English and Spanish. There weren't any radios, or CD players which might have been nice.
The owner left plenty of water for us so there were no worries about drinking from the tap. And the fact that he had WIFI for my laptop was wonderful. It hooked up really quickly and we were able to research everything we needed.
He does need to get some hair dryers though. I never bring one with me as they are usually available at the homes I rent.
The house's location was fantastic. We were right next to Benito Juarez park where you could play basketball, or just sit and people watch. And the center of town was only about ten minutes away. It was an easy walk, plus you pass many interesting shops along the way. A pharmacy was across the street and about two-three blocks away was a small grocery store.
San Miguel is well suited for visitors. So many interesting things to see. Plus, you are only about an hour away from Queretaro, which we visited for the day. Another stop, only 40 minutes away is Dolores Hidalgo where Mexican independence was declared. Also fabulous ceramic factories there.
And about an hour away in the other direction is Guanajuato, a true gem of a city. Really need to spend a few days there which we did prior to coming to San Miguel.
You won't be disappointed if you rent this lovely home.
Have a great time and enjoy all the mariachis in the plaza at night and the delicious margaritas!!!! La Gringa y Su Amiga
