La Selva Beach Vacation Rental house

We chose the Lodge to celebrate my mom & dad's 80th birthdays and immediately felt at home here. We loved cooking family dinners every night, playing games by the fire, playing the piano and singing songs, and of course jumping on the trampoline. We also loved watching the fog creep in mornings and afternoons, stargazing, and hot tubbing after cold ocean swimming, surfing and boogie boarding. I cannot think of a more ideal place our family could have chosen; we loved the house so much sometimes we didn't even leave but sat on the deck and enjoyed the abundant bird activity and listened to the wind rustle the trees. No mosquito problem at all, only saw a few ants here and there, definitely not an infestation! The wonderful furniture, art and family mementos just gave the house more character and made us feel like we were staying with good friends. Rose was a fantastic host, and was always available to help. We have been missing the house so much we cannot wait to return. Would recommend it in a heartbeat, except we want to keep it all to ourselves!
Activities & restaurants: Santa Cruz boardwalk (kids), Wisteria Garden Center, burritos at Sofia's and Los Gordos in Aptos, Palapas restaurant in Seascape and we LOVE Cafe Sparrow near the Bayview Hotel in Aptos.

We found this place to be very peaceful and prviate. The description was accurate and the place was very clean with a beautiful freshley cut floral arrangement in the dining room. The grounds are rustic and natural and the home is spacious and rambling but warm and cozy at the same time and was VERY well stocked with all essentials. We immediately felt at home here and never wanted to leave!The owner was very friendly and welcoming and accessable and eager to advise on restuarants, directions, shopping or anything needed. Sleeping arrangements were very comfortable and offered lots of flexibility which we really appreciated for our group of eight with some coming and going throughout the full week we stayed. We loved the deck and the trampolene was great fun! Since we spent a lot of time on the deck(every morning, evening and afternoon) we loved the comfy canvas cusions kept neatly tucked away for all of the benches, chairs and lounge chairs; very functional setup. The house offers lots of dining options (2 large tables and chairs facing opposite sides of the house). The location served as a great base for visiting nearby Santa Cruz, Carmel, Monterey and Capitola. We thoroughy enjoyed our grocery store/liquor store trips to the shopping plaza in nearby Aptos and two of us discovered The Red Apple Cafe on our first day before the rest of the family arrived. This is a GREAT breakfast place; don't miss it! We also enjoyed Stokes Adobe in Monterey and there are many wonderful restaurants but we stayed in mostly and made ample use of the grill and beautiful kitchen facing the ocean. The trail to the beach offers a nice option of something to do if you just want to stay at the house and the beach is very pretty and clean. This place was everything we were looking for and then some. All eight of us had a fantasic time. We would HIGHLY recommend this place for a family or group and will never forget our time there.

The Crest Bayview Lodge was absolutely perfect for our family! The spaciousness, proximity to the ocean, view, hot tub and beautiful antique furnishings surpassed our expectations. We would definitely return, and we highly recommend this wonderful home in the beautiful La Selva Beach area.
