David-- Thank you so much for providing a wonderful weekend get away for my family and friends. Your home was the perfect place to bring two families together to enjoy a nice Fall break weekend. We loved being greeted with the towel and wine, while the kids only arguments were over who got the last of the muffins. HUGE HIT, and delicious. Your kindness and ability to drop what you were doing to assist was great and comforting. We really appreciated the boat rental, after learning my boat would need engine work. Not many would come at that hour and be so pleasurable. The history lessons of the lake as well made it all that more enjoyable to cruise and think about the stories and adventures you had, It certainly made eating at Chophouse fun knowing some of the back story. Thanks again for a great weekend and look forward to many more on Lake Burton at Shangra La!!

David and Steph, Thank you so much for everything!! We can't even begin to tell you what a great time we had and how appreciative we were of your wonderful hospitality. When we walked in and saw the embroided towels with our name on them, the huge muffins, wine, chocolate candy, personal note, etc.... we KNEW we were in for a treat!! The coffee pot filled with water and the different coffees to choose from won my heart too...and we haven't even gotten started yet..... your lake home is beautiful! You can tell it has been loved and taken care of. Everywhere you turn, you feel a sense of coziness, warmth and beauty. The personal touches that you add to every room show how much you love sharing your home. The view is astonishing from inside your home as well as the outside. Walking from the bedroom door directly onto the walkway that leads to the boat house is an amazing little stroll. Just beautiful!! We were again amazed.... the size of the boathouse deck...wow.... the view, the tables and chairs, grill, and all that you put into this area!! What a great place to spend the day. The walkway along the lake and the floating dock area was very nice too. So clean and well kept. The ducks were a bonus, they were so pretty and seemed to love hanging around. The purpose of our trip was to just get away for a few days and spend some quality time together. We enjoyed it so much. It was really hard coming back home and back to reality. We enjoyed going to the Dillard House to eat. That is one of our most favorite restaurants in Georgia. The antique shopping areas and sightseeing opportunities are great too. That was so neat...so close to everything...yet so far away. The pictures you have posted on the website to rent your home are beautiul and give a really good idea of what it is like, but you could never really know what it is like unless you experience it in person. They say pictures are worth a thousand words, but in this case.... .. Thanks again for everything!! We sure hope to see you again...in the near future!!!

I had the best time celebrating my 30th birthday with my closest friends at this secluded hide-away. The views were stunning, and the owners thought of everything. Great touches all through the house that made it truly enjoyable. They even had "welcome" gift for us when we arrived, a monogrammed towel with my name on it, muffins and wine.

We got to use the kayaks, enjoy the water and even caught a meteor shower. I don't ever remembering seeing so many stars and the milky way in all my life. It was a once in a life time experience.

I will definitely make a trip back to Shangri La the next chance I get. Thank you David and Stephanie!!
