Somes Sound Vacation Rental house

If you expect being close to the water or a reasonable view of it,look elsewhere. What your primary view pertains is an expansive estate. More specifically their tennis court sits about 150' from the master suite deck close to the property line.Nothing like waking up on display to the neighbors. (there are shades)
The deer are locals. Every day 5:30am and dusk they were in the yard. Kind of cool. Makes me think the mount in the house was pretty easy pickins.
We stayed the third week of April. And the biggest turn off was the fact that the owner refused my request to be fore warned of anyone coming into the house. Which was a frequent event. Disturbing,it was like they were waiting for us to leave. Muddy foot prints,rocks on the floor,the daily messages on the answering machine retrieved were a few of the signs.There is a private studio on the top floor. It has access from outside as well as two places in the house. Most disturbing was waking up at two AM feeling like someone was in the house. I am retired army SF,these,"feelings",are not self manufactured. At this point you wonder what of your personal belongings were looked through and more so if your food was tampered with. Adding to this was the fact two locks were broken leaving the place venerable to access. One time a door that we locked on the way out was unlocked when we returned. Not to mention the home was full of biting flies,another sign doors were left open.
A very nice house. A less then desirable primary view. Make sure you bring light bulbs for the exterior lights. As they are all missing from the back side. Probably so the estate neighbors don't complain.
