Wonderful and relaxing Vacation

Submitted: January 4, 2013 Stayed: December 2012
This cabin was just what we were looking for. Everything is brand new but still has a cozy, rustic feeling. There are lots of things to do for nature lovers in the area and we even took a day trip to see Asheville. We ate at a local restaurant and it was good. We mostly cooked at the cabin and roasted marshmallows by the fire place. All the pots and pans and measuring spoons where neatly organized in drawers ready for us to use. We were surprised how well equipped the cabin was. It was a very relaxing vacation with lots of beautiful out door walks.

Rent this cabin with confidence.

A Wonderful Vacation Cabin in the Perfect Setting

The cabin was terrific. There were personal touches everywhere. The owners were very friendly and responsive to our every need. The cabin was clean and ready when we arrived. It was perfect and we enjoyed it immensely including my mother, nephew, daughter and wife. The cabin is away from it all and we enjoyed coming back to the spacious and quiet surroundings after a day of activities and sightseeing to relax in the hot tub. We traveled the Tail of the Dragon, Moonshiner 28, the Cherohala skyway and visited several waterfalls and hiked in the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest. We spent a day in Cherokee and went horseback riding. We rafted the Nantahala river, and spend a day out on lake Santeetlah in a Pontoon boat. The water was crystal clear and we couldn't resist jumping in for a little swim. We patronized many of the local businesses who were all very friendly. I highly recommend visiting here.

A very peaceful experience

We recently had an awesome time at the Lodge in the Smokey Mountains. Brad and Ginger were excellent hosts and we enjoyed getting to meet them. They were knowledgeable about the area and gave us some good hints on what to see. We enjoyed the beauty of the area, the kids loved playing in the stream. The cabin is serene and we all felt very relaxed there. I love the way they've decorated, not over done; just perfect! Our kids loved the selection of games and we all had a lot of fun in the hot tub. It's so nice to be able to use and washer and dryer..less packing for me! The Dragon Road is something to be experienced and even my 73 year old mom loved the whitewater rafting with NOC! I'm sure someday we'll return. Thanks again Brad and Ginger! (and the cookies and bread homemade from Ginger were an extra treat!)

Wonderful Time at The Lodge!

We have stayed at many cabins across the country and The Lodge ranks as one of the best! Everything about our stay was perfect from the seclusion that we needed to the old logging roads which were perfect for hiking. We would especially recommend hiking up Little Buffalo Road where you will feel like you are disappearing into a different world! It was great to have a hot tub to retire to in the evening to relax after a long day of hiking as well. But the thing we enjoyed most about our stay was being able to walk outside on the beautiful outdoor living room and hear absolutely nothing except the sound of birds and the rushing West Buffalo Creek.

Many thanks to our gracious hosts (Brad, Ginger and John Isaac) for sharing this lovely home with us!
