A cool, comfy crowd-pleaser!

After spending the past 3 months cooped up in a NYC apartment with a newborn, all of us definitely needed some fresh air -- especially once a couple extra relatives arrived to visit from across the country.
Turns out, Anne's vacation home was the perfect place for our mini "family reunion" in the Catskills -- with something for everyone. I immediately fell in love with its cleanliness, cool decor and skylight. My mother-in-law enjoyed playing cards in front of the toasty "fake fire" fireplace. My husband liked cooking in the well-equipped kitchen and sleeping late in the cozy bed. And my brother-in-law had a blast reconnecting with his inner boy scout, sleeping up in the loft and building a fire in the pit outside to roast weenies. The baby even seemed to dig the relaxing view of the pretty, autumn-y trees right outside the deck.
We've stayed at a couple other places in the area before, but we were especially pleased by what a great value this rental was in comparison -- and also how nice stuff was/nothing broken, etc. You always enjoy your getaway a lot more when you don't have to worry about being chilly, running out of toilet paper, etc.
The location is excellent, too -- close enough to explore nearby towns, but still feels woodsy, quiet and private. Someday hopefully my mother-in-law will come back to babysit and me and my husband can return for a couple nights by ourselves!
