Two of the bedrooms on the second floor have private balconies for your pleasure. We have 2200 square feet of living space so you will never feel crowded. You can sit on the covered porch and watch the kids in the pool, it is that close. We have a tv in three of the bedrooms and one in the living room. We have wifi, large six burner gas stove, large refrigerator, microwave, griddle, granite counter tops and many other extras. We have direct lagoon access so bring your boat or jet ski. It is only a short walk to the crystal white beaches that Gulf Shores is known for. This is one of the best Gulf Shore vacation rentals on the market. Would not stay again, worn down and dirty.

We arrived at 'Bama Blue' on July 5. The most positive thing I can say about this property has nothing to do with the property at all...it is about the owner. He is very accommodating and quick to respond to any questions or concerns. That being said, we would never stay here again. When we got into the house, our first impression was that it was worn down and the floors were absolutely filthy. I honestly didn't feel comfortable not wearing my shoes at all times. The furniture is older and worn. The mattress in the upstairs king room is falling apart-creaks and groans whenever you move around. The photos shown by the owner are also deceiving- the twin beds are shown in two different rooms, as well as showing the laundry room with just furniture in it (when in fact, there are two twin beds in the room now). This brings me to another huge complaint I had about the house: this is NOT a 4 bdrm home. Just because you put two beds in a room at the top of the stairs, does not classify it as a bedroom-there is no door or closet in this 'room'. This is a 3 bdrm house, which would have made us choose another house had we known that. Also, on check-in, we noticed that all of the lights were out in the car port, as well as a leaky kitchen faucet. I emailed the owner on the day of check-in, and he said he would get maintenance out to fix it...never saw anyone, heard anything...all were still not fixed when we left. There are also simple upkeep issues that seem to be ignored-a smoke alarm was removed and not replaced at some point- just painted over. Toilet paper holder ripped partially out of the wall by previous guests...the remaining parts left in the wall and a free-standing holder placed in the half bath. I think if the place had been clean when we checked in, and some simple upkeep done on the property, it could be a nice house.

Owner's Response: Two-story duplexes such as Bama Blue are classified as 4-bedroom rentals. We all have a loft area where I have twin beds. The washer and dryer set in an alcove and are separate from the loft area by doors. I always describe the sleeping situation accurately, and if I failed with this guest, it was an unusual omission on my part and I apologize for that.
This is the first complaint I have had on this cleaning crew which has been with us for over a year. I have addressed the situation with our cleaners. We have a framed note on the kitchen counter with the names and phone numbers of our cleaners and maintenance man. One call to either of them and they will respond immediately. We have hardwood floors and they are worn where the traffic is the heaviest.
True, a smoke alarm was moved and the original place was painted over.
Also true, our cleaners put in a free standing toilet paper holder where an old one had been ripped out of the wall. They were rushed because our guests had asked for early occupancy and they accommodated the request.
When I read this response I immediately called our current guests to check on the creaking bed. They said there was a creak, but that it was fine and did not present any problems. It has been taken care of.
We certainly apologize for any inconvenience you had. We will continue to do what is necessary for our guests to enjoy their vacations at Bama Blue. We have enjoyed the pleasure of having repeat guests.

Very Upscale Beach House

I was so impressed with the furniture and appliances in this house. It felt like an Uptown New Orleans house with the nice wood floors and very elegant furnishings. The appliances were all stainless steel and very modern. Large TV's in every room too. We saw a beautiful red fox by the lagoon. That was the highlight of my day The owners were very interested in everything being perfect for us. Thanks so much for lovely surroundings

Lovely setting great space in the condo.

We were guests of your renters- enjoyed our stay - perfect for a family vacation. Guest book indicated spring breakers have used your place and the wear and tear really showed. Pictures are deceiving and some of the beds had not been cleaned. Too bad renters have been inconsiderate and damaged your
property because you seemed so proud of your home. And as owners you were very accomodating. Would love to see it when renovated. You have a diamond in the rough. Would love to come back! We respect a person's property! Thank you! Have already recommended it but hope for improvements. Loved the lagoon setting!

Owner's Response: After the review, we hired new cleaners and have not had a problem since. We replaced the living room couch with a new leather couch, replaced the coffee table and other things. It was too bad that a guest of our guests did not find things the way they expected it. Bama Blue is expertly maintained and we strive to maintain excellence in all areas.

This Gulf Shores home has ocean and beach views from 1 of 3 of our balconies. We are a short walk to the beach or just use the free public parking in front of the beach access. The property is lagoon front, which provide breath taking view of the grande lagoon. We have a private boat dock and gazebo for your use. So bring your boat and dock directly behind the unit. Bama Blue has it all, you have a lagoon views and an ocean views from this unit.
