This property is designed so nicely nestled in the oaks with nature. Deer often roaming, relaxing and resting in the meadow below the deck.
Our secluded oak retreat is incredible for enjoying sunsets, star gazing, wild flowers and bird watching all from the comfort of the deck, hot tub, or large windows in the living-room.
This custom home was designed by a local designer with lots of special details. The open beam ceiling, gable windows and skylights allows the home to feel light and spacious.
We stayed at the very quiet retreat house for our first trip to the Yosemite valley. The house was quiet, clean, and secluded. The hot tub was great after long days of hiking and the owners were very quick to return any questions we had about the house.
My husband's sister and brother-in-law were visiting CA to escape the cold NY winter. We wanted to take them to see Yosemite and hoped to find a home to rent while we were there so we would all be together. We made several attempts to book other locations through other websites with no luck. We were down to the wire with plans to leave the next day and no confirmed reservations. Not only was the VRBO website easy to use and filter through choices, but the property that we found truly was like a home away from home. The property owners were super fast to respond and we quickly were confirmed for our reservation. The property was easy to find and the home located on a beautiful, peaceful piece of land. The home is open, spacious and modern. All the amenities were there and easy to find. One of the days our brother-in-law stayed behind at the house while the rest of us went adventuring in town and in Yosemite. When we came back he said he spent the day reading in a lounge chair on the sunny deck that over looks a grassy meadow. He was so relaxed and rejuvenated. To be honest, I was a little jealous of him being able to luxuriate in such a serene place. I would definitely go back.
This home was simply beautiful and very quiet. Everything we could need was provided and the views were lovely. Nights in the hot tub star gazing were divine. Yosemite was amazing and it was nice to be a bit out of the way near a lovely little town with a great olive oil shop. Resident deer never far away. Owners are kind and generous. Highly recommend this home for a Yosemite trip.
The location is great. The cabin is perfect. The sightseeing amazing.
This home was so beautiful and comfortable! We loved cooking in the beautiful kitchen, drinking our coffee and sipping wine on the large porch that overlooks the gorgeous property, and taking dips in the hot tub! The decor in the home is so charming and it really felt like our home away from home. We rented this place as we wanted to spend some time in Yosemite, but honestly, I could have just stayed there the whole weekend! The property was beautiful and we enjoyed morning walks down the gravel road. My husband and I are already trying to plan our next trip up there!
My family chose this vacation property for our first Christmas away from home, and we were not disappointed! All the positive reviews are accurate and the photos do not lie. My wife and our two children, ages 7 and 10, completely enjoyed this 8-acre country estate just 10 minutes' drive outside Mariposa. It's on the way to Yosemite's Arch Rock entrance, which was perfect for us. We wanted a white Christmas (something we'll never get in our warm Phoenix area), and while it did not snow at the house (that would have been lucky indeed!), we did not expect it to, as the home sits at just above 3,000 feet. No worries, we spent three of the days in Yosemite National Park and enjoyed a white Christmas Eve inside the park!
Back to the house, where we spent all of Christmas day -- the kitchen is well equipped (we made a delicious lasagna for the holiday) and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. We loved the skylight above the master bed, and the kids enjoyed having their own ensuite bathroom. We relaxed each evening with a nice hot fire in the wood stove, and the hot tub outside was to die for -- all set up and ready to use without a second thought! That was really special and, in our experience, somewhat unusual. A wonderful touch. We also appreciated the eight private wooded acres surrounding the home. No other houses within sight, which is something we value. The deer really do come around each morning and some afternoons, too.
One of the best things of the whole experience was dealing with the owners, who were a joy to communicate with. They were kind enough to acquire a beautiful Christmas tree for us and set it up in the living room in advance of our arrival, complete with lights and some ornaments! Really, this went above and beyond expectations and made our Christmas experience complete. In summation, we are very glad we chose this property for our holiday excursion and we recommend it without reservation.
Great for birders. The swimming in Bear Creek and the Merced River are fabulous in the summer!
