St. Thomas Vacation Rental villa

We have just returned from ten highly enjoyable days in Moonlight Villa, spent with our two adult children and teenage daughter, five of us in all. First things first: the views from the deck are so spectacular we were happy to spend hours out there in the sun. Even after driving all over the island, we rarely saw better vistas. The deck and pool area provide a huge outdoor space, with plenty of comfortable furniture. The inside is spacious too - two huge bedrooms and the third a good size, all very well furnished, and a decent living/dining/kitchen area with every convenience. The layout of the accommodation is good, and we never felt as though we were on top of each other.

The arrival procedure went exactly as promised - even though it was Christmas Day! As we headed to the baggage claim, the owner's representative was the first person we saw, and she waited patiently while we sorted out a glitch with the rental car and picked up our bags. She then drove ahead of us to the villa, pointing out sights, shopping areas, etc. using a walkie-talkie she had given us. The drive is quite an experience itself! The villa is in a gated community on the north side of the island, and after seeing some other parts of the island we appreciated the security and seclusion of the location. Sherri then sat with us for quite some time - again, on Christmas Day - using a road map to point out where the good beaches and restaurants are.

The villa has everything you might need, even down to surround sound in the pool area. On the one really wet day we had, the satellite TV was greatly appreciated.

Perhaps the most spectacular moment came about 8 o'clock on the first really clear night we had. The moon rose slowly above Tortola, looking huge over the sea, then shimmered over the waves for the rest of the night. After this experience, we knew how the villa got its name!

Great place! You'll enjoy it. We most certainly did.

Moonlight Villa was "home away from home" on St. Thomas for me, my wife, our two teenaged daughters and two of their friends for a week in July 2009. Andy is a very conscientious and responsive owner with a great on-island support staff. The villa was immaculate, inside and out, and well equipped for our stay. The size, layout and amenities of the villa are such that no one in our party felt cramped or crowded. We gave the blender one heck of a workout every day making frozen drinks and enjoying them poolside. Andy provides a lot of little things that we have not found at other villas, including beach towels, detergent for washing dishes and clothes and even trash bags. The first trip to the villa can be a harrowing experience but the view and privacy just cannot be beat. Magen's Beach is just a short ten minute drive. We especially enjoyed the food and service at The Delly Deck Restaurant, located at the south end of Havensight Mall, consistently the best value on St. Thomas. Cost-U-Less is a good choice for groceries while K-Mart is the place to shop for the numerous varieties of Cruzan Rum. We hope to return to Moonlight Villa next year. And the next!

We recently stayed at Moonlight Villa in April of 2009. The house was just as pictured, and the view was beautiful. We were two couples with children, so it was great to have the kitchen and pool. Sherri met us at the airport and we followed her in our rental car to the house. She spent a lot of time showing us the nearest restaurants, grocery stores, and beaches on the map (which was a great help). We tried a different beach every time we went out, and loved Sapphire Beach the best for its beauty and good snorkeling. We all loved the house, and will definitely stay there again if a return to St. Thomas is in our future.
