The house is located 15 miles south of Hot Springs, NC and is approx. 30 miles north of Asheville, NC, which is the site of a natural hot springs resort. Located in the lushly scenic Appalachian Mtns. and Pisgah National Forests on the French Broad River. It is a launching point for White Water Rafting, and it is on the Appalachian Trail. Asheville is a bohemian mix of urban and rural mountain influences, a thriving university town and a burgeoning center for music, arts and crafts.

All you can hear is the mountain stream that runs along the road and the rustling of the tree leaves nestled around the house. If you like to star gaze, the night sky is so dense and black that the stars appear to explode with sparkling light. Hot Springs is a quiet town, 15 miles north, a beautiful drive. There are restaurants, stores, Inns, and the Historic Hot Springs resort. Hot Springs is also the launching point for Hiking, Fishing and Rafting excursions. If you need or want more stimulation, take the 40min. drive into historic Asheville, where you'll find a thriving yet mellow university town, filled with of full spectrum of pleasant diversions; music, art and crafts, museums, great restaurants. And don't miss the opportunity to see the incomparable Biltmore estate, it is nothing short of amazing!

5th Anniversary Family Trip

My husband and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary with our baby boy this past week. We had such a wonderful and relaxing time! The house was HUGE and beautiful. We mainly stayed downstairs since there were only the three of us (not to mention chasing after an infant who can crawl, kept us downstairs) It was very cozy and we felt like we were at home. We'll be sure to come back for another mountain escape. Thank yoU!

Fantastic mountain getaway!

My wife and I escaped to this wonderful, private mountain retreat for our 10th anniversary weekend. It was perfect in every way! Beautifully decorated and outfitted with all the amenities one would expect, including a nice selection of DVDs, bath salts for the big tub, candles, etc. It's well kept by the owners and has a lovely front deck from which you get a nice view of the surrounding mountains and woods. The drive to and from Asheville is rather twisty and turny, but in a good way, with breathtaking views. It took us about 30 minutes each way to get to downtown Asheville. Hot Springs is another nearby destination, just about 20 minutes north. Loads of hiking close by, too. Highly recommended!

Great retreat for quiet time and some walking.

My wife and I visited this house and had a great time. We did walks right out the front door on a cleared, dirt road in the woods with no traffic. It is right next door to beautiful 100+ acre area that has some houses but no traffic. On the days we ventured away from the house by car to a walk in a nearby state park or a canoe trip in Hot Springs NC, we drove on through some picturesque mountain views. The house itself had 2 rooms upstairs that we didn't even use on this trip. In the past we have stayed here and the kids took over those rooms. The kitchen is first rate and the internet access made it possible for me to do some remote web work necessary that week. I give this place a full 5 stars after 2 visits and would go there again as time permits in our schedule.
