Great view of the lake. The beach is fun for bonfires, sand castles, sun bathing, swimming and walking. Big front yard for volleyball. We have chairs, tables, umbrellas and a wooden chair swing. You can bike or walk to a nearby park to get ice cream or play at the play ground. You must check out the stars at night!!! Enjoy the closed in porch to watch the boats go by, the sun and moon come up! Also a must see!!! We call it the 'Million dollar view'!!! You will love falling asleep to the sound of the waves outside your window!!!!!! You can't ask for anything better!!! If you love the beauty and sounds of nature, this is the place for you!! Even the storms are awesome to watch over the lake!!! You may even get a picture of a rain bow! Only 7 miles to the nearest Hospital and Veterinary. One mile north is a corner store with gas pumps, fire wood, movie rentals, news paper & groceries. One mile south is Forester Inn bar and grill. Enjoy it as much as we have for 70 some years!!!!!
Jim was so awesome to work with, he made everything nice and easy for us. The house was clean and well stocked. The bedroom down stairs was perfect for my husband and I, our boys were upstairs the house was cool. Some friends of ours came up for one night and the house actually slept 9 and two dogs...and everyone was comfortable.
I loved that the house was so open and refreshingly calm, it was also so nice that my kids could play in the water and even from the house we could see them. My favorite was at night when the day was done and we enjoyed a fire on the beach!!! We will be back and were booking for next year before we were even packed to come home.
We had a wonderful vacation here. The owners were so easy to work with and extremely friendly and accommodating. Their home was well stocked, and spotless, which was a huge relief!!
The water was very, very cold for this time of year, I'm thinking it was because of the horrible winter we had and the cool down in the evenings. You absolutely cannot beat the location...the sunrises were breathtaking!!
The only downfall to this vacation, was the chilly water, and the large rocks in the water. It was very difficult to walk without hitting one or two, but it was shallow very far out, which the kids enjoyed.
All in all we had a wonderful vacation and a great time! I would highly recommend this property and would recommend to friends/family!
The property and home were very nice and very clean. The pictures made the rooms look a bit bigger then they are, but pictures tend to do that. The owner was very pleasent and good to work with. The house was well stocked with everything listed in the posting, everything worked well. The house was well marked with notes and instructions. The neighbors are extremely freindly.
The beach is great. It's got some large rocks submurged here and there to look out for but still very nice to swim - and shallow a long way out. This house sits on one of the nicest sandy spots up and down the shore - so much that it attracts a crowd from the neaby parks. People either walk down the shore, or use the narrow easment next door. On our last Friday there, we were sharing the beach with 20 people. The easment would be great if you had a jet ski on a beach cart, it's wide enough to get that down to the water, but don't expect to be able to get a car down there, or even a wide trailer.
The supplied row boat is in good shape, I hooked up my small outboard and went for some rides and fishing on the calmer mornings.
All in all a nice spot - we would consider renting again.
