Waters Edge is a luxurious House in a breath-taking location. Only 15 minutes drive from Clifden along The Sky Road, one of the most scenic roads in Ireland. The house is set on a 3 acre ocean front site with private cove and mooring. The fishing from the land is exceptional, right outside the house Bull Huss, pollack, mackeral & Mullet patrol the edges all along the Bay (also Lobster) with fantastic views across to Omey Island.

The House is fully equipped with a utility room & kitchen including washing machine, dish-washer, large fridge/freezer. Water's Edge is beautifully furnished with a large open plan sitting and dining area, open fire, TV & DVD with double doors to large decking area. A large hallway opening onto well appointed sun room with superb views of the Bay. The ground floor has two double rooms both ensuite.and a family bathroom. Upstairs there is a gallery area looking onto sitting area below, a family bedroom with 2 double beds & ensuite shower & toilet

Waters Edge is a luxurious house in a breath-taking location. It is a stone-built property set in 3 acres, 2 sides of the land meet the sea (Streamstown Bay). The house comes with its own mooring and private cove. There are also lots of beaches and coves to explore close by, including Omey Island. Land-lubbers can enjoy spectacular sunsets over Streamstown Bay from the comfort of the sun-lounge or from the extensive decking at the side of the house, from which you can also enjoy a view of the twelve Bens. 'We have come to Connemara for years and stayed in many houses, Water's Edge beats the all!' (comments book).

A fantasic week at Water's Edge. The views and the sunsets have been truly memorable. Lovely house, delightful setting, superb scenery. Loved every minute of it, especially the peace and quiet. I have loved it, so have my friends and family. It is hard to imagine a more remarkable setting. The house is very well appointed and really nothing was lacking. None of us live by the sea so it was extra special to watch the tide, herons, otters and birds. Thank you for everything, we would love to visit again. The house and its panoramic views are fantastic. Has to be seen to be believed, would certainly return and recommend to family and friends. We have come to Connemara for years and stayed in many houses - Water's Edge beats them all! We've really enjoyed Water's Edge - its an unusually comfortable cottage in a 'ridiculously beautiful' place (16 yr old) Great sun-lounge and luxurious bedding.The fishing is remarkable, pollack, wrasse, mackeral, bull huss right outside the house!

Perfect Honeymoon Stay

This was a wonderful house in which to spend the first week of our honeymoon in Ireland! The cottage was clean and comfortably furnished with everything necessary to cook and live in. It felt private, cozy and the views were incredible! We made a fire nearly every night with briquettes and enjoyed the quiet, peaceful surroundings. We bought local Salmon and cooked it in the cottage and are our dinner in the sun room watching the sun set over the bay--it was amazing. Will definitely come back some day!

Clifden was about a 15 minute drive along the Sky Road (a very pleasurable drive filled with striking overlooks!) and we were able to get to all of the local sights quite easily.

We are avid horse riders and highly recommend The Point Pony Trekking Centre on Ballyconnelly where we were able to go on an extended beach and tidal island pony trek. They also cater to less advanced riders as well. Connemara National Park was also a trip work taking and the hike up Diamond Hill had amazing views. Mannin Beaches were like a tropical island beach and be sure to check out the cute little pub on the corner as you enter Ballyconnelly--it has amazing food at good prices!

We had a perfect trip and hope to return someday!

Great place to get away from it all !!!!

Stayed here with Kids and Grandchildren. Great place to do own meals, but close enough to town to dine out also. Folks that take care of home for owners are fishermen. We purchased lobsters from them and cooked ourselves. Great!
Caught Pollock fish in the bay, both grandkids caught one each. House is very comfortable and the sun room is great for viewing sundowns, or rain when it does that also. Everything here we needed, including private bathrooms. There are two ways from Clifden and both are scenic drives, especially the sky road with the magnificent cliff views, castle ruins etc. We did day trips from the house to several places and then enjoyed the slow pace again at the house and relaxed by cooking at the house in the evening and breakfast. You will not be disappointed. Great views, rock fences, sheep, horses, cattle, nice remote clean and relaxing location..

Quiet and rugged beauty

My family of 6 spent a wonderful week at Water's Edge this June. We found the location was perfect for our wishes to be close to the sea; within easy reach of hiking and beaches; and provide a relaxing atmosphere. The house itself is well furnished and maintained, and we loved being able to watch the tides and sunsets each day from the deck. We would love to return.

Excellent house

We spent one week here from 3rd April to 10th April 2010.
There were four of us. The house is in a stunning location, very well equipped, very clean, very comfortable. The heating system is excellent. We have rented many, many houses in Ireland over the years and Waters Edge has to be on the top of the list.
A big bonus for us was that we were able to take our two Springer Spaniels with us. We will definitely return.
The one problem at the moment is that due to this year's severe winter weather conditions the roads from Clifden leading up to the house are full of very, very bad potholes. I'm sure they will be repaired over the comming months.
The scenery in the Connemara area is just to die for!!

Waters Edge location and everything about the house made our stay there a wonderful experience.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway
