BEAUTIFUL, SPACIOUS, BEACHFRONT HOME ON TRANQUIL, TURQUOISE BAY

Wow...what a great surprise. We were a little leary not seeing any other reviews but we were pleasantly surprised. The bedrooms are very private, the house very clean and the views amazing. The kitchen could use a little updating but definitely do-able. We felt safe and enjoyed the privacy the property had including both beaches. If you're looking for upscale, pristinely decorated this is not your place. If you want a clean, comfortable home away from home with the warm breezes and gorgeous sunsets this is it. The beds also were very comfortable. The housekeeper Arila very sweet and very accomodating if you needed anything. The only "cons" are that the upstairs patio needs some table and chairs to enjoy the marvelous views and sunsets and Casa Avalalon needs more chaise lounges other than the 2 at the beach. And some sand chairs to take to other beaches would be great as they charge usually $5/chair and if you stay a month like we did, that really adds up. Also, if some solar lights could be put up the pathway from the road that would help at night walking back to the house.

As far as Isla goes, we will be returning and to Casa Avalon. So many great restaurants to choose from and at various prices. Can be inexpensive and still eat wonderful local fare or a variety of international fare. Travel around the island is either by taxi which can get expensive on a lengthly stay or scooter which for more than 2 people not reasonable or golfcart which we did but also was expensive. We negotiated a lower rate for the month but still expensive but extremely fun. You really got to see the island at a slower pace. Or you can rent a car and bring over from Cancun but that can be expensive with the insurance issues. Better to look into before getting to Cancun. In any event, a trip we can't stop talking about and we miss Isla very much. So much more enjoyable staying at Casa Avalon than doing the All inclusive thing. That got very tiring and this is so much more casual and we really destressed at this lovely home. Thank you!
