Corolla is 20 miles north of the Great Bridge that links the Outer Banks and mainland. Corolla has shops and restaurants for all tastes. The near-by Food Lion and Harris Teeter have everything you could need, while the local Corolla Center Shops (2 minute walk from our villa) can meet any last minute food/beverage, beach wear or rental needs (bikes, kayaks). Corolla is a great location where the island gets narrow. As a result, you are very close to the ocean and the Sound. From our townhome, you are 650' from the ocean and about one mile from the Sound (beautiful sunsets). Make sure to view the aerial map that we did. Notes: With 2 master bedrooms, this villa is perfect for one or two families but not so big that a vacationing couple would feel right at home. With 3 1/2 baths everyone is comfortable! Young children? We have 1 crib, 2 high chairs and a booster seat, a wagon, stroller, backpack, books and toys. Books for older kids too! Lots of board games. DVDs too. Better yet, walk to the fish pond to feed the fish and turtles!

Walk to the Beach and Activities : So close to the beach? Yes, the walk to the beach is quick (650 ') and pleasant. Out the front door, you walk about 20 yards to the left, turn right for 10 yards, and then left again onto a gravel path that leads you to the pools and beachfront restaurant. Once there, you cross the dunes and descend to the pristine beach. It's so close a 2 year old can make the walk round trip on several occasions the same day. Great weather? Go to the beach or take a bike and explore the historic Currituck Lighthouse, museum, historic Corolla shops or just follow paths to the sound. Enjoy the 3 pools (one kiddie pool) steps away from this villa with activities for the whole family every day (sports, pool-side competitions, arts and crafts, etc). What about so-so weather? Rush the kids and guests to the huge indoor Sports Complex with an Olympic size pool, hot tub, sauna, 2 indoor clay tennis courts, racquetball, wallyball, weight room, cardio & aerobic room, pool tables, punching bags, arcade.

Water & Wildlife: Like the water and wildlife? Take the kayak and explore the Sound and incredible waterfowl discoveries. Or go 4-wheeling on the beach to see where the wild horses roam. Sports? BEST place to stay!!!

This home exceeded our expectations. Kitchen had everything I needed both to cook and to serve a nice meal. Beds were very comfortable. The extras provided with home make the trip more diverse - ping pong, pool, indoor and outdoor pools, easy short walk to beach, soft sandy beach perfect for walks or sandcastles and more. The owners are cooperative and go the extra mile to help. There are lots of good places to eat out such as Blue Point (a little pricey but the food and presentation are worth it - reservations a must). The paths for walking, biking, rollerblading make walking to the sound or around the sound or through the area easy for strollers or joggers.

We had the most delightful stay at this marvelous beach house. The owner has put a lot of love and care in her decor, and has thought of everything one could possibly want or need for housekeeping.

Our 3 year old grandson was wheeled around in one of the two red wagons found in the garage.Even though we brought our own toys, he found so many more in the closets and cubbies. We all used the hot tub after a day at the beach, and after dinner. We grilled every night on the deck using the great Weber grill provided just off the kitchen.

We enjoyed the themed bedrooms and the details that added charm to each room.
We can't wait to return to Cheeseburger in Paradise.

Our family stayed here from May 25 - June 1 and we had a great time. Our family is all grown up, the youngest being 23, and everyone had such a good time. The house was very accomodating for the 9 of us and everyone was raving about the house and the location. There is so much to do at Corolla Light, I don't think anyone was ever at a loss for something to do. The weather was great with only 1 rainy day. I would recommend this house for bigger families who like to stay active on vacation.

Just so you know, you do need to order your towels online beforehand and you should bring your own toilet paper, paper towels, etc. All cooking appliances and bedding are already provided though.

Wonderful Villa in Corolla Light. We visited April 8 - 12. We had a taste of all types of weather which we expected at that time of the year. The villa is so well equiped that down time from the weather was enjoyably spent indoors. We really appreciated the quality Weber grill. We grilled all our dinners to perfection.

Great place to stay

Our family has enjoyed spring break in Corolla for about 10 years now. The Corolla Light resort has excellent amenities. We always enjoy long walks on the beach and over by the sound, riding bikes (included at Cheeseburger in Paradise!), playing tennis, and generally relaxing. THe indoor sports center has a heated indoor pool, weight room, and tennis courts.
The owners of Cheeseburger in Paradise have done a great job of providing everything to make your stay comfortable. As others have noted, the kitchen has plenty of dishes, pots & pans, and utensils to make it easy to cook. We do generally cook almost all of our meals on vacation and it was a pleasure to have the right stuff to make it work well. (We've had unplanned adventures in some other units with flimsy pans or not enough forks.) We also enjoyed grilling on the gas grill on the deck one night.
The condo is nicely furnished, very clean, and had many small touches (pencils, paper, extra light bulbs, directions on which remote to use for TV or DVD) that set it above the pack. The Corolla lighthouse, the Whalehead Club, and the adjoining park are all a comfortable walk or bike ride away, most of it on sidewalks. Harris Teeter and Food Lion are both within a few miles.
The owners and the rental agent were both very helpful, informative, and genuinely wanted us to enjoy our stay. We would stay again!
One note: linens are included, but not towels, at least when we stayed. It wasn't a problem for us as the agent did make it clear and we had plenty of room in the car, and it is possible to rent towels separately.
The bikes in the garage worked fine, and we saw a new croquet set that we meant to try out. Maybe next time!
Be sure to enjoy sunsets on the sound and walking over the little bridges at the park. If you're up for a long walk, head north on the beach to the row of pilings that mark the end of the paved road.
