This great house is located just off Route 100 and just outside the small town of Wardsboro. Stop at the well stocked General Store for virtually all your necessities. The House is perched on the side of Stacey Mountain with great views and sunsets especially from the 6+ person outdoor hot tub. Its covered so you have clear, covered access in the snow. Take the back roads from Mount Snow or Stratton and avoid all the traffic! Its less than 15 minutes to Mount Snow and about 25 to Stratton. Okemo and Bromley aren't too far either. The property is over 10 acres for hiking, snowshoeing and tranquility! We have direct access to to the V.A.S.T. snowmobile trail system to bring along your sleds!

We spent 3 nights in this cozy, spacious, and beautifully secluded ski home. The pictures in the listing are very nice but I would say they do not do the house justice. Everything about the house was perfect for us! It is beautifully situated on the high plateau of the otherwise hilly property. The many windows/sliders offered fantastic views of the Southern Vermont mountains. Our party of 11 was very comfortably accomodated by the 3 bedrooms + 4 bunks. The kitchen was equipped with all necessary items and, then some, to cook great meals. The family room offered a nice flat screen TV and the potbelly stove kept us very warm. Our favorite feature of the house was the game room, which allowed the kids to entertain themselves while the adults did the same in relative peace in the upstairs family room. Wardsboro, VT is a small but quait village which features a great general store just minutes from the house. If more was needed, other options were a short drive from the house. Ken, the property owner, was more than gracious! He was very attentive to all of our needs, including providing nearby dining suggestions and even quickly sending a repairman out to replace the front door lockset. One word of advice: during winter months, be sure you have a 4WD vehicle. Even though the driveway is frequently plowed, it is very difficult to climb without 4WD.
In short, I could not give this property a higher recommendation and most certainly plan to return.
We had a wonderful time at the home. Very spacious yet cozy.
Fantastic ski home and I do mean home (the greater majority of NE ski homes are typically an eclectic, nauseating mix of flotsam and jetsam remnants found in the local woods and glued/nailed together (sans insulation) for the sole purpose of housing the masses of wayward frat boys looking for a weekend of decadence and debauchery). Ken's home is a GENUINE home tastefully appointed. Ken's attention to detail and hospitality are priceless. Strategically nestled between the Mt. Snow, Haystack, Stratton, Magic and Bromley ski areas this home is immaculate, cozy yet spacious and close to great dining, entertainment and of course a variety of outdoor recreational opportunities. I introduced family from abroad to the entire NE experience and snow for their first time a la Ken's place. It was if they had stepped out of one paradise into another! We can't wait to book this place again!!
We had a great time at this coze and awesome ski house! We were a group of 11 coming from NYC and Boston. The fireplace and basement entertainment section are amazing, not to forget the hot tub! The spacious kitchen allowed for us to make most of our meals at home. Will definitely be heading back next year. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us!!!
This was our second year in a row coming up to Kenneth's property in the winter, and we absolutely love it. The house is clean and spacious, the beds are comfortable, the fireplace is inviting. Kenneth is also really great about being responsive regarding payments and questions.
We generally come up in a group of about 10, and it's a great place for people of all levels of winter ambition. Most people ski or hang out by the fire playing board games. But a few of us bring snow shoes and tromp all over the surrounding area. There's enough undeveloped land around the property to make this a really worthwhile endeavor. I hope to make it back again soon.
We stayed for christmas week at the house - 8 of us - my family and my wife's.
basically, everything was either as or better than described. Great yard, peaceful location. Great basement rec room (good sound system, pool table, fire pit, hot tub). Warms up really nicely.
The owner Ken is super accomodating and helpful. responds super fast to everything. Really, no issues.
- Listing is accurate and if anything undersells it (pictures are meh compared to the actual house)
- super clean, super well maintained. everything works well, clearly a house someone responsible likes to enjoy. no funky smells or anything like that.
- Great communication and everything from the owner Ken
- I would definitely recommend and i've already enquired to stay there again later this winter.
- one this to note is that you should drive ~20min if you want a medium sized town with stuff like cinemas and whatnot.
This outstanding property is just outside the very small village of Wardsboro... you are able to see the church steeple in the view at the bottom of the valley. Very quiet except for an occasional echo of a dog barking in the valley and the river rushing by.
The location is very convenient between to major ski resorts Mount Snow, and Stratton as well as two lakes, parks and recreation areas. Townshend Lake and recreation area, Jamaica State Park and Grout Pond and of course the entire Green Mountain National Forest.
Hiking trails on the property as well as directly connected to the extensive VAST trail system. Enjoy a private trail to the summit of Stacey Mountain with views of Stratton Mountain.
Other Activities: Snowmobiling and Hiking on Vermont maintained trails right from the property
