Aloha. Welcome to Lauloa Resort, Unit 111. We searched for a second home on Maui for many years. We have finally found our piece of paradise and would like to share it with you. The condo we recently purchased has just been completely remodeled. Email us for the virtual tour. What makes this condo so exquisite is that it is on the ground floor, without a confining balcony railing, separating you from the view. For years we rented upper floor condos but the lanais were so cramped, there was no room to “spread out” and be comfortable. Our lanai opens to a huge, manicured lawn and the ocean, just 22 steps away. Relax on the comfortable lounge chairs. Both the master suite and the living room face the ocean with sliding glass doors to the lanai. Lauloa is the only condo in Maalaea that offers a double wall of glass and, therefore, twice the ocean view. Enjoy snorkeling, fishing and swimming right outside your lanai door. Have a relaxing massage on the lanai (call Deanna 283-5301).

Why Maalaea Bay? Location, Location, Location: Maalaea Bay is located mid-way between Lahaina and Kaanapali to the North and Wailea to the South. It is 3 miles from Kihei, a great place for moderate priced dining and shopping. The location cuts off hours of driving time to and from the best of what Maui has to offer, like a quick zip to Hana, the Volcano, and East Shore. We are only 15 minutes from the airport and the big box stores (Costco, etc.). Watch the whales from your lanai while taking in the view of the Haleakala Volcano and Molokini. During the season (January – March) the Humpbacks come into the Bay, where the water is calm, to have their calves. Watch them through our telescope. The Beach: Enjoy five miles of pristine, white sand beach. Nearly 3 miles will never be developed because it is a Wildlife Preserve. We love to walk the 5-mile (round trip) stretch of beach from Maalaea to Sugar Beach. It’s a wonderful way to exercise and we try to walk it everyday.

We are only 15 minutes from the airport and the big box stores (Costco, etc.). The Water: The ocean is very calm in Maalaea Bay due to an offshore reef. It is safe to swim there, especially for children. If you enjoy being knocked down by the big waves, go North to Lahania/Kaanapali or South to Kihei/Wailea. The Weather: Maalaea Bay is on the driest part of the island. It rarely rains. You can be sitting on a sunny beach while watching the rain to the North and to the South. Why have your vacation spoiled by rain?

Dining: Maalaea Bay offers four wonderful oceanfront restaurants including The Waterfront Restaurant, that consistently wins “The Best Seafood Restaurant on Maui” award, Buzz’s Warf, Beach Bums Sports Bar, and the Maalaea Grill, all walking distance away.

Other Activities: The Maui Ocean Center Aquarium is a “must see” (voted Hawaii Top Rated Family Attraction) and a beautifully landscaped Miniature Golf Course and Amusement Center, is also within walking distance. We spent 2 weeks here for our honeymoon and it was wonderful.The condo was beautiful and Susan was wonderful to work with. The best thing about the condo was the huge private lanai. The condo was very clean and had everything you could thing of. I would recommend this condo to anyone and i can't wait to come stay again. Thank you for sharing your condo with us.

Everything we hoped for...and more!

Our family of 5 had a wonderful time at this condo. It was very clean, confortable and quiet. It had many convenient extras that made our stay even more enjoyable: beach chairs, beach towels, snorkeling gear, boogie boards, umbrellas, cooler, etc. Being on the ground floor is definitely a plus: we felt like we had the whole backyard to ourselves and ate every meal on the lanai. The view is absolutely wonderful and the location is perfect. We explored the whole island and everything was no more than a 2 1/2 hour drive from the condo (except for the Road to Hana which requires a full day). Maalaea is basically a well-kept and quiet row of condos along the ocean. Around the corner, at Maalaea Harbor, you'll find a convenience store, boutiques, restaurants, the Maui Ocean Center and boat charters. A snorkeling cruise to Molokini is offered daily. The closest grocery stores are located in Kihei (20 min drive). A few tips: 1) If you want to see the sun rise on Haleakala, it's a 2 1/2-hour drive which means you should get going around 3:30 am in order to get there on time to find a good spot along the crater. The sunrise is best viewed from the Visitors Center, a few hundred feet from the summit itself. 2) The Road to Hana is an absolute must! Don't be deterred by its 617 turns...the road is well-maintained and people drive with caution...except for locals (just let them pass and they'll reward you with a smile and a "shaka") and speeding dump trucks (they usually come in pairs and honk before blind turns). There are so many thing to see and taste along the road that you should really get going around 6:00 am. We left at 8:00 am and had to skip a few things in order to get back before it got dark. We found an audio tour on CD in one of the drawers under the TV at the condo. If it's still there, bring it along, it made our trip to Hana much easier and a lot more enjoyable! 3) If you want to take surfing lessons, the staff and location of the Goofy Foot Surf School in Lahaina are great! There right on Lahaina beach. 4) Beyond Kapalua, don't miss the Kahekili Hwy, or at the least drive up to the 42-mile marker to see the natural ocean baths. You don't have to go down the cliff, the view from above is wonderful. Once you get there, you can turn around and go back to see the Nakalele Blowhole, at the 38-mile marker. 5) Malu'aka was our favorite beach...we shared it with sea turtles! 6) Buy Lonely Planet Maui and get the info before you go!

We spent 2 weeks here in March/April 2009. The condo was very clean and well appointed. The view from the lanai is outstanding and the whales put on a great show during our stay. the grounds, especially the grass were very well maintained. We have stayed in other condo complexes in Maalaea Bay and Lauloa #111 is our favourite so far. It was very quiet and private and we would not hesitate to recommend this unit to others or return ourselves. Thank you Greg and Susan for the use of your beautiful condo.

What is so special about this condo is the huge private lanai area with the lovely lawn and flower garden. I loved lying out on the chaise lounges while reading a book and sipping a cool drink. You just don't have that kind of space on the upper floor condos where you are confined to a small balcony. I felt as though I was at a private home instead of a busy condo complex like so many others. The condo itself is beautiful with all the amenities. Great location loved the walks on the quiet non crowded beach. Beautiful view. Wish I was there enjoying it now.

A gorgeous, clean and peaceful place to stay--very relaxing. Loved being close to everything. The best part was the many whales we watched from our lanai. Will stay here again without a doubt.
