The kitchen, dining and living area are open, there is a fully enclosed back porch. Two decks over looking the water. Steps to the water, boat mooring included. Gas fireplace, air conditioning, fully furnished with linens towels two TVs, a DVD, high speed internet access, gas barbecue, local phone, dish washer and washer and dryer. The master has a king size bed and the 2nd bedroom has twins, the loft also a twin. Very quiet neighborhood on dead end road. Montreal is 90 miles, Stowe is a 45 minute drive. A fully equipped playground less than a mile away, with a bike path across the road from the cottage along the lake through Burlington and Colchester over the causeway just south of South Hero. Burlington is 10 minutes away with fine restaurants, little cafes along Church Street which is blocked off from traffic and many cute boutiques and department stores. There is always entertainment along Church Street including street musicians, mimes, and other acts. Also many golf courses.

Colchester Sand Dunes is a quiet vacation area where people boat, swim, waterski, biking along the extensive bike path which goes into Burlington and the islands. Many festivals in Burlington and surrounding areas. We have many public golf courses, museums, outlet stores, a downtown area which is closed off and there are many musicians and artist that perform along the many side walk cafes. A ferry in Burlington goes to New York state where Plattsburg is located, also Ausable Casims. Montreal is 90 miles away where there is horse racing and a very large casino. Stowe Vt. is 45 minutes away which has many quaint shops, restaurants, horse back riding, and a gondola ride and alpine slide. The cottage is great for relaxing and doing nothing but enjoying the views or being as active as you like with so many activities so close.

Additional information about rental rates

  • a $500.00 nonrefundable deposit is required for each week reserved
  • the cleaning fee is $150.00 if the cottage is not left as clean as when you arrive. a $500.00 security deposit will be required at the time of arrival. if you don't wish to clean the cottage please let me know in the beginning of the week so i can have my cleaning lady come on the Saturday you leave. your deposit will be returned after the cottage has been checked for any damage etc... the $150 cleaning fee will be deducted from your security deposit if you choose not to clean.
  • When you book your reservation please send the $500 non refundable security deposit and as soon as i receive the check that week will be reserved for you. The balance will be due two weeks prior to your vacation date and it should be in the form of a bank check or cash. We have had problems with people canceling last minute and also had some bounced checks. Included in the check should be the 9% vt. state room and board tax.

Notes: I leave all my herbs and spices, ketchup, mustard , different cooking sauces, etc... we have an ice maker, everything is there to cook any type of meal, frying pans, pots, dishes, utensils, spatulas, plastic glassware to take down by the water. I make sure there is paper towels, toilet paper, soap, dish detergent, laundry detergent and other basic items. This can be quite an expense if you needed to buy everything for a week.

Burlington and surrounding areas: Church street in Burlington is an experience in itself, church street is closed off to traffic. You will find many unique stores some very fine restaurants and cafes. While you sit at a cafe you'll be entertained by street musicians, jugglers, mimes etc....It's a really fun experience. if golfing is your sport there are many fine public and semi private courses in Burlington and surrounding areas. in the town of Essex we have an outlet mall with many designer stores.

Montreal: Being so close to Montreal, only 90 miles you can experience the many museums, great shopping, fabulous restaurants, a beautiful casino, horse racing and white water rafting. There are many tours available for old Montreal, Botanical gardens, boat rides down the St. Laurence. Montreal is a great city with so much to see and do.

We have been renting our summer cottage now going on our third year, we have had some really wonderful people and have enjoyed sharing our home with them.
