3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms, sleeps 6

Walk to Playa Baillenes, swimming, surfing, snorkeling, Kitesurfing, scuba diving, fishing. 20 minute walk along the beach to town. Excellent local and European cuisine. Exciting night life...music, dancing, casino. Excursions... whale watching, Limon waterfalls, fishing, scuba diving. Lots of local color in this vibrant Dominican town. Rent includes 3 days/wk (3 hours each) housekeeping. Can be hired for additional time and cooking. Rental of a quad/all terrain vehicle recommended to explore the area and for evening trips to town.

Sailing Club with Kayak, windsurf and buggieboard, sailboat and hobiecat rental.

Once you have decided to rent I will arrange to have you met in Las Terrenas by my housekeeper Thelma who will guide you to the house and get you set up there. She has a Rav 4 which is available to rent should you wish to do that.

Activities in the area: The Samana Peninsula has miles of beautiful beaches, with gorgeous Lomas (hills) running down it's center. Spectacular views! The Samana Bay is a sanctuary for the mating and birthing of Atlantic humpback whales . There are horseback excursions to the impressive Limon waterfall, all manner of watersports is possible,nightclubs and dancing (bachata, merenge, salsa) to keep you hopping, and excellent local and European cuisine to delight the most discerning palate. A new zipline has received rave reviews! There is a small sailing club right down our hill where you can have lunch or rent a boat.

Airports: We fly into Santo Domingo (SDQ), and drive the 2 hours to our home. The trip is on brand new highways that take you through palm plantations, the mountains of a national park, rice paddies and finally along the side of the mountains of the Samana peninsula with spectacular ocean views. We are 30 minutes from a new airport Samana 'El Catey' so check for flights there first. As of 2013 there are Jet Blue flights from NYC on Wed. and Sat.

Las Terrenas is an exciting Dominican town with a strong European ex-patriot population, French, Italian, German. It is located on the Samana Peninsula, with some of the most beautiful beaches in the country. You can walk for miles along gorgeous palm treed beaches with delightful small hotels and condos...no High rises! Great local and European cuisine, exciting night life, lots to do! Our home is one of only handful of houses that sit on a hill with ocean view and is walking distance to the beach (5 minutes) and town (25 minutes).

Other Activities: Kite boarding, zipline, ATV excursions

Golf: We are about 1 hour up the coast from a beautiful golf course at Playa Grande.

Notes: Housekeeper 3x per week (3 hours each day) included for house maintenance. Available for additional hours and meal preparation. Most dining is done outside at large table. Inside as part of the kitchen there is a high table with two stools. Open concept to the living room/ dining/kitchen. Wall of sliding french doors to terrace. Screens throughout house. Guard for gated community in place 24hrs. In-home massages and manicure/pedicures available. Very reasonable! Massage table in the master bedroom. Lots of DVD's. Young children need supervision on terrace and in the master bedroom.

Wonderful!

My stay here was so wonderful! The house is gorgeous. Large, clean, and very relaxing with a wonderful deck that you can have meals on and listen to the sounds of the ocean waves. The views are incredible, you feel swept away.

The short walk down the hill to the beach is easy and you can spend all day swimming in the warm waters, tanning and drinking or eating at the hotels and restaurants nearby. A little farther is the town of Las Terrenas, which is full of shops, stores, restaurants, and nightclubs. We rented ATV's from a company in town and rode around different areas of the peninsula, we even climbed up to see a waterfall. I would recommend this rental to anyone.

Beautiful Hillside Location

Set well above the beach, the beautiful home commands an striking view of the north shore. When morning showers sweep across the ocean, you'll have an excellent opportunity for an iconic view of rainbows over the tropical ocean.

Kristy, and all the Las Terrenas folks were friendly and responsive. Dinner on the patio, and plenty of massages in the exquisite master bedroom were highlights.
We had a lovely stay.

GORGEOUS

overall our stay was lovely . House was fully equipped to most part. The house is very centrally located to wonderful beaches near by and restaurants. The house is on cliff so be mindful to have a walk down on rocky road for all nearby beaches .
We were total of six adults and two kids so two guest room were little too small with kids otherwise they were ok.
Host is been extremely helpful in arranging cook, babysitter and basic details prior to our trip. Thanks for your help Kristy. You have beautiful house.
Owner's Response: We're so glad you enjoyed your stay. Fortunately the road to our community is about to be repaved. One master suite and two guest rooms is generally perfect for three couples which is why we recommend a 6 person max. Some guests do choose to add a few children at their own discretion.

Family reunion in paradise

Wonderful week in a lovely home in a beautiful setting and quaint city. The house was beautifully furnished with many amenities and the yard was professionally landscaped. One of our favorite features was the spacious balcony patio where we congregated each morning and evening to enjoy the ocean views. The beach was a short 5-6 minute walk from the house and from there you could walk into the town of Las Terranas. The snorkeling around the point was great and we saw a variety of fish including cuddle fish, octopus and lion fish. We would definitely return to this property but probably not during the heat of the summer as there was no air conditioning.

No our house does not have A/C which is clearly noted on the website and I noticed that we actually went over this in our e-mail correspondance. I guess it was a particularly hot week. Generally the ceiling fans throughout the house keep things pretty comfortable year round. Thanks for choosing our house.

Beautiful and amazing

Our stay was was fabulous, the house is absolutely breathtaking, the view is unimaginable. Even if we had a little mishap with the stolen well pump we didn't feel any discomfort or inconvenience , Thelma responded quickly. You have great people working for you. We did bbqs at the house, went to the fisherman's market and made langostina , we went deep sea fishing and made the catch of the day on the bbq with a wild mushroom risotto. We always felt safe.We went out a few times, and our greatest discovery was the the Collonial the best quality and price, the Troika great home made pelmeni and Nikolai the owner is one heck of a guy. The Thalassa (a bit overpriced), Mi Corason (expensive) but great food and service, best cheese burger One love surf shack, typicial and a bit scary at the same time Luis. Overall, the sunsets at the house, the view while sipping a pina colada in the dipping pool made our holidays fabulous. thank you for letting us share your house.
