3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms. Comfortably sleeps 8

Our house in Jamaica VT is just under a 4 hour drive from NYC. It has the charm of an old house (c 1900) and the ease of a new house (gut renovation 2003). Situated on a winding dirt road our house is bordered by woods and overlooks a roaring brook. The first floor is all open with a wonderful flow between the kitchen, dining room and living room that is unbroken by walls. Laundry room, mud room and half bath are also on the first floor. There’s a fireplace in the living room and a woodstove in the kitchen. The 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths are on the 2nd floor. Each room is well furnished so you can comfortably unpack and settle in. Spend the day at the house and explore our 3 acres of woods, soak your feet in the brook, have a barbecue, roast marshmallows, or sit on the garden swing that overlooks our little waterfall. Leave the car at home and walk 2 miles down the road to Village of Jamaica. Walk 2+ miles the other way and you’re at Pikes Falls.

Summer Activities: hiking, camping, biking, rafting, swimming, golfing, Bromley Alpine Slide. Drive 2–6 miles and get to the following attractions: Town of Jamaica (art galleries, coffee house, fine dining), Jamaica State Park (Hamilton Falls), Pikes Falls, Stratton Golf School, Stratton Sports Center, and the Stratton Village. Drive 25-40 minutes and get to these following attractions: Manchester (Hildene, restaurants, outlet shopping, movie theater), Town of Brattleboro (restaurants, shops, movie theater, galleries),Town of Weston (Vermont Country Store), and Route 30 antique shops. Winter Activities: The Stratton Ski Resort is only 5 miles away! From our house you can beat the skier traffic because we’re on the back road to the mountain. Mt Snow & Bromley are both about 30 minutes away. Also enjoy shopping, dining, and other attractions described above under Summer Activities. Southern Vermont attracts a lot of tourists; there are many additional places of interest in the area.

Our family voted this the best ski house we've rented! It was close to Stratton and our large group enjoyed skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, tubing and cross country skiing. The beds were comfortable and the home is nicely decorated with antiques. We are ready to go back!

So comfortable and short-easy drive to Stratton.

We stayed over Christmas and New Years and the proximity of the house to Stratton made getting to ski school for an 8:30am start, real easy. The house has great flow and has so much comfort, ample space, and an overall good vibe. The owners are great communicators and couldn't ask for anything more.
