Better than we imagined!

We had such a great time on Ocracoke. The Treasure Chest turned out to be a beautiful little house, just perfect for two. The view was amazing and better than we expected. I think we spent 90% of our time on the screened porch, looking out at the sound whether we were drinking our morning coffee or watching the sunset with a glass of wine. The house was immaculate, the bed very comfortable and the kitchen had all the cooking utensils we needed. The only thing we had trouble with was the grill. We couldn't get it to light (which may have been b/c of the wind) and it needed a good cleaning. We got along fine without it though.
We liked being able to easily walk down to the sound side beach where the water is calm and warm. We also had fun renting bikes and riding them all over the island exploring the cute, unique shops. We love that all the businesses are independently owned. The meals we had at Dajio and Cafe Atlantic were both excellent. The "mermaid float" at the Slushy Stand is a great afternoon treat. And be sure to try some locally caught seafood from the Ocracoke Seafood Company. Delicious! And of course, Ocracoke's beaches are unbelievably wild, and beautiful. We even found a perfect conch shell to bring home. We can't wait to go back!
