Things to do!!!: Walking distance to a mile-long jetty to fish, 2 popular restaurants,, marina, public dock where private & fishing vessels are in the harbor. Nearby is a general convenience with daily lobster catch during season cooked perfectly while you wait or bring home. Whale watching & deep-sea fishing boats leave from the docks in Camp Ellis. Kayak rentals nearby for use on the Saco River, which goes out to the ocean at Saco Bay. Amusements & gift shops are a 5-minute drive to Old Orchard; 10 minutes to Funtown (theme & water park) & 15 minutes to the Aquaboggin Water Park on Rte.1. Another attraction is “bird watching”, especially at the Scarborough Marsh, which is about a 5-minute drive from Old Orchard & 10 minutes from Saco. Others nearby are the Saco Heath, Kennebunk Plains, Two Lights (in the off season) &, Biddeford Pool to name a few. On Saco beaches, bonfires are usually allowed with fire department’s permits. Our Location : Saco beaches (Ferry Beach, Camp Ellis, Bayview, Kinney Shores) are located 2-1/2 – 3 miles south of Old Orchard Beach and are at the ocean on Saco Bay.
The Old Orchard Beach/Saco exit is Exit 36 mile marker once you're on the Maine Turnpike (I-95). Saco & Old Orchard are about 30 or so minutes north of Wells & Kennebunk areas. Ocean Park (is part of Old Orchard) & Pine Point (Scarborough-is about 1-1/2 miles north of Old Orchard). Both are also similar areas - both are very popular areas and definitely family oriented as are the beach areas in Saco
Saco & Old Orchard are half way between Kittery & Freeport for outlet shopping; 20 minutes to South Portland to a major mall and 20 minutes to Portland. We’re about 1-1/2 hours or so from the Boston area.

Camp Ellis is a 'Fishing Village' area...dotted with newly-remodeled homes and some of the older ones are still here. It is an active fishing area for commercial lobster-men & fishermen. You can go over to the dock to watch both fishing vessels and pleasure boats. .
