Delightful Cottage Stay

This cottage was described accurately on the website, and the additional information provided by the owner and realtor was detailed and most helpful. We found the cottage well-maintained, and everything was very clean.
The setting is lovely. The unfortunate part of our experience had to do with the weather, as it rained the entire week we were there except for a few clear breaks the last 2 days. For my husband, that was not an issue, as he was content to stay at the cottage, reading books, and looking out at the rain (which he loves!). I prefer to be out and about, and photography is my hobby. So I didn't do much picture-taking, but did get to some really nice museums. The cottage is some distance from the nearest built-up area, so given the weather, I did a lot of driving back and forth. In particular, I recommend the Farnsworth Museum, the Owls Head Transportation Museum, and the Henry Know Museum, Monticello. Also the Puffin Project in Rockland. We enjoyed 2 dinners at the East Wind Inn in Tenants Harbor, lunch at the Rockland Cafe and breakfast at the Thomaston Cafe. The General Store in Port Clyde is a neat place, and they have yummy cupcakes!
Unfortunately, the weather kept us from taking the boat over to Monhegan Island, which we had planned to do.
I would certainly recommend this property to a friend, and especially to anyone who enjoys solitude and the sound of the waves lapping at the shore.
My only negative comment about the cottage is that for someone, like myself, who has back problems, the furniture in the living room is all quite soft, so bringing along some firm cushions might help. The king-size bed, however, was very comfortable.
